But the 3 biggest plays of the day were the 4th down conversions, and the players never get a chance to execute them if Lafleur doesn't call them in the first place. And at least on that last one, he asked Love what he wanted to run, and then agreed when Love told him.
That's a significant departure from what we're used to seeing from Lafleur. As I said earlier in the thread, if those 3 plays don't all work, I don't think we win the game. I hope we see more of this "all gas, no brakes" philosophy going forward, especially in the playoffs, where every single game is the only game in the entire season.
I'm no doctor, but the more I look at it, the more that makes sense. If that's it, it's a terrible injury for the guy (going to be very painful, and there'd be a difficult surgery), but he'd be back by training camp. Krumrie broke his leg in the Super Bowl in February, and was ready to go in July. It's going to be a massive blow to our pass rush, but hopefully a couple of guys will step up.
I guess I'd rather it was that then the ligaments. I tore just a couple of ligaments in my ankle in a construction accident in 78, and I still have occasional trouble with it.
I thought of that too, but decided I'd be more comfortable waiting til later in the season. But with the Wyatt injury, that Parsons trade suddenly is enormous. Priceless, even.
And I think that a couple of years down the road, we'll be looking back at the 22, 23, and even the 24 drafts as A+ pieces in the puzzle.
Still wish we'd taken Cooper Dejean instead of Jordan Morgan, though. But even Ted Williams struck out sometimes.
