In big games, the stars need to shine.
Love
Parsons
Wicks
Watson
MLF- I usually have a lot of criticism for him but I think he called his best game of the season as a play caller.

Duds
The rest of the D line- Not enough pressure on Goff outside of Parsons. He turns into a pumpkin under pressure. Detroit still scored 24 points with 3 back up O linemen and missing St.Brown and LaPorte.

Should've stymied the offense with Detroit decimated by injuries.

If we are isolating to just one play I guess Love is a dud because he missed Melton for that open TD down the side that was a chip shot…Watson for the one drop he had…and Parsons for giving up the edge on the one massive run outside…

Studs without watching All22:

Love
- He was great and we still didn’t even ask him to cook as much as he can IMO.

Wicks - Big time game for him

Doubs - If you watch that dude was nasty good today, blocking and massive clutch/difficult catches everywhere.

Williams - He is projecting himself up to be one of our best defenders overall.

Parsons - duh

Duds

Nixon - numerous mental weaknesses illustrated acting like a child, DUMB penalties…

I struggle to say anyone else for the game was a dud

I think you gotta put Valentine on the dud list. He had a rough game in coverage but that missed tackle was just inexcusable

Big Valentine supporter here but he had a rough day

Three and three per usual

Studs
Love - one of his best games for us IMO.
Wicks - same - one of his best games ever. Consistently stepped up
MLF - credit when credit is due, criticism when criticism is due. I was really pleased with how he called the game today. Pretty much how I’d like to see him approach games in general

Duds
injuries - getting Wyatt back had been a big help. We’ll need some guys to step up
Refereeing - extremely inconsistent
CBs - Nixon extremely undisciplined. Valentine poor tackling led to an easy TD

Overall, from a player perspective, not a ton of duds

Wyatt's injury has yet to be announced. It didn't look good because he stayed on the turf so long. Hope it isn't a season ender but once teams get several big injuries, there's usually a flood. Just ask the 2024 Lions and the 2020 Niners. The Lions were also hit hard by injuries but still scored 24 points with 3 starting O linemen out. Lions fans must be getting really exasperated with their injury situation.

Love - sensational game; in control the whole way. QB rating 124.2

Lafleur - what a statement game. Walks into Dan Campbell's house on Thanksgiving Day and out-Campbells him. 3 for 3 on 4th down, 2 of them touchdowns and the third the game-clincher. This may be the best game I've ever seen him coach; it's certainly the gutsiest. If we don't go for and convert every single one of those 4th downs, the Lions win the game. I hope this means we're seeing a whole new MLF

Parsons - if not for the blatant holding, he'd have had 4 or 5 sacks. And every one of those 2.5 sacks came at a key moment.

Wicks - 94 yards, and some extraordinary catches in critical moments.

Watson - made some very important plays out there, and a couple of beautiful catches. You don't seem to see people saying "he can't catch the ball" lately.

Doubs - the numbers are quiet, but he made a couple of clutch plays when we needed him to. Showed a lot of effort out there today.

Jacobs - quietly pounded out 83 yards, kept the defense honest, and helped set up the pass plays.

Whelan - only two punts, but they were moonshots - 72 and 62 yards. The UDFA from Ireland has quietly become the top punter in the NFL, averaging an impressive 52.4 yards per kick as of today's game.

Gary didn't have a stellar game either.

That could mean a lot of different things from a bad sprain to a high ankle sprain to torn ligaments to a broken ankle. Whenever a guy rides off on a cart, however, it's usually a season ender. Hope not, but carts are the worst

I credit the calls because they all hit today. If one fails we lose. But I believe when it is windy, 15 degrees, and snowing, I think MLF has to know the % of success changes. Only one of our last 5 is indoors. The rest...BRRRR!

We won by 7 so we wouldn't necessarily lose. But that's pretty amazing 3 for 3 with two of them 50 50 balls or less. LaFleur called a really good game imho. And I liked that we were often under center. That jet sweep at the start of the game; Melton gets way too deep in the backfield. Gives the whole lion defense time to cover it

Brian Gutenkunst.

It’s unlikely GB is at 8-3-1 had we not acquired Micah. He’s a 1 man wrecking ball. If Parsons stays healthy GB should run deep postseason. Also drafting Love has paid dividends. In his 3rd season we can absolutely say a #26 overall selection is a steal. Our GM will be remembered by that draft trade and stealing Parsons from Dallas.

We were aggressive. And I liked going for the first down. We would have had to stop them anyway
They said the analytics put the choice 50/50. So it makes sense to try to just end the game. Put it in Loves hands and it paid bonus bucks! Great Win!

PS. I knew Lions were in trouble when Campbell burned timeout BEFORE the 2-minute.
