OK. I'm out of this thread until Monday. This thread has just become stupid and I'm glad I played my part in that stupidity but now it's over for me.

I'm sure many others will continue the pointless one upsmanship.

back to serious talk.....

Of course, I am planning on wearing a brady jersey to the game on Sunday and expect to be harassed about it. Would it be that much worse if I were to wear one of Brady's UM jerseys? Do people in Wisconsin despise UMichigan that much?

Unfortunately, my only Packers Jersey is an old #89 Mark Chmura number. :(

The Biggest Question I have about this game is can GB's Defense stop the Pats O Line and their Running game?

The Pays may try to run w Blount and Grey if for no other reason to open up the PA Pass.

Blount had a good day against the Lions 77yrds on I think 12 carries.

I have three links below. One is the source of that story copied below and the others are similar stories by other fans. Stories like these pop up often so I doubt you'll be harassed much either way. It's a great place for opposing fans.

I recommend getting to the game early and finding some tailgaters who will offer you beer and a brat.

And to answer your question about Michigan, now now that Michigan is not good, the hatred of them has shifted towards Ohio State.

"Drove out to Green Bay for last weekends Eagles/Packers game and besides the *** whipping the Birds had handed to them it was an absolutely incredible experience. We drove up Rt 43 and as soon as we saw Lambeau we immediately got fired up. We bypassed the hotel and went straight to the stadium. We exited of our vehicle in full Eagle gear and proceeded to enter the hallowed halls. What happened next was beyond anything I could have imagined...

We were welcomed. Greeted with "Hellos", "Are you from Philly? Hey have a great time", "Hey, good luck tomorrow and enjoy yourselves." We were all stunned. Where were all the horrible names we were to be called? Not one vulgar word was thrown our way. Not one food item tossed at our heads. NOTHING! It was like being in a bizzaro football world.

We took a tour, went on the field and had numerous Packer fans offering to take pictures of our group with field behind us. WHAT WAS GOING ON?! WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!

After the tour we went to The BAR & Stadium View, once again in full Eagle gear. As soon as we entered, we received one or two boo's. Now thats more like it! Then the ones that booed came up to us and informed us it was all in good nature, welcomed us and bought us a round of beers! We even had one man leave the bar and come back so that we could try some squeaky cheese curds!

By the end of the weekend it was clear, Green Bay Packer fans are better people than Philadelphia Eagle fans. After being very gracious and thankful to all of the people that spoke to us I was asked numerous times how a Packer fan would be treated if they came to a Philly game. Would they be beaten up? More than likely not. But you wouldn't be treated anywhere close to the way we were treated in Green Bay.

We had an incredible experience (no thanks to the Eagles) all due to the good people of Wisconsin and all I can say is

Thank you"

I fully expect Brady to destroy our defense. Our defense has never stopped a top QB before so until they do otherwise, I will just expect a disaster.

Depends on which Packers run defense shows up: the one vs. Seattle, the Bears (game 1), and New Orleans, or the one who played the rest of the games.

For some unknown reason to me, the Packers just got whipped at the line in those three games, but have been fine in the others.

Ok, I need to come in here as say a couple things. ;)

The Packers are a decent Offensive Team and can score a lot of points against average Defenses.
The Patriots are a decent Offensive Team that can score a lot of points against Anyone period.

The Patriots Defense is better than the last few teams GB has faced.

Do not take the Pats Lightly at all as they can score all day and bring it all day long.

For the Packers to win this game they will have score 30+ and not make mistakes.

Is it possible? sure they are at Home and have a good record there, but I think its quite Possible the Pats continue on their Merry way and go 10-2 and run the table.

My Score Prediction this game??

NE 38 GB 29

IF GB wins the Turnover battle and doesn't give the ball away at all.

GB 36 NE 31

Good Luck!
Any references or stats to back that up? As far as I can see the Packers and Patriots offensive stats are very comparable throughout the season. And Brady and Rodgers are comparable. Gronkowski and Nelson are comparable. Gray, Vereen and Blount are comparable with Lacy, Starks and Harris. The offensive lines are comparable.

I just don't see how one of these teams can perform against "average defenses" with the other against "anyone period" with the stats and talent saying they are neck and neck.

You can say it but that doesn't make it right. The most important statistic in football is how many points you score and how many you give up.

When we played the Eagles they were 12th in points given up. Vikings were 14th. The Patriots are 12th. All three have equally good defenses, so don't flatter yourself with anything else than the facts.

Here's a good little summary from Vic Ketchman's column:
Q: Vic, what did you see in that last four-minute drive? I saw a team that wanted to win the game on the ground, and even when the defense could see it coming, the Packers still took what they wanted. What message did it send the rest of the league?

A: The message had already been sent; that’s why so many opponents were playing single-high safety. No team wants to get flattened by the run. The No. 1 goal of every defense is to stop the run. The Vikings must’ve thought they could do it with a light front. They couldn’t. The importance of what we witnessed yesterday is enormous. It’s what the Packers couldn’t do in 2011 and ’12. They couldn’t make teams respect the run. Now, it’s pick your poison. How do you wish to die?

El Guapo,

Did either of those teams when ranked that high ALREADY face 2 of the top 3 scoring offenses like the Pats D?

And the eagles IMO are a paper tiger they have mark butt fumble Sanchez as QB lol

Rodgers is going SHRED the Patriots secondary and Lacy is going to leave cleat marks on the faces of their defensive line! Peppers will get another pick 6 and Cobb will return a punt for a touchdown. Packers 49 patriots 18

A word to my Patriots brethren - lets back off on the bold proclamations shall we?

It seems one Packers fan has derailed what was a fine thread and now the tone has changed somewhat.

In the spirit of the previous couple of days i'll propose 2 Packers players i'd trade for their positional counterpart on the Patriots:

1. Jordy Nelson over Brandon LaFell - LaFell has done an excellent job this year, far surpassing the expectations of most - however Jordy Nelson is an elite No.1 receiver.

2. Eddie Lacy over Blount/Gray - Lacy has been the missing piece for the Packers over the last few seasons - too often it was my impression that the Packers were too one dimensional with no running game to lean on - especially in cold playoff weather!

Cheers

Gronk over Any GB TE (sorry I don't know their names) It's GRINK IMO the best TE in football and one the most dangerous Offensive weapons in the NFL.

Revis/Browner over your CB's your DB doing well this year but these two have made BB schemes scary again.

And to my packer fan hosts want to say I like the pack and they are my fav NFC team. And I apologize if any of you took my good nature ribbing wrong.

If we played like we did against the vikings, you can count this game as a L. Must get pressure on brady.
Yup.
This will be more of an offensive than defensive game, I think.
Our O has to beat their D and our D will have to get a couple of turnovers for the O to score on.

I'm sorry but I find the run game as it was in Minny, boring. I immediately deleted it on the DVR when we were done watching but am still going to finish re-watching the Eagles one. A much better and more awesome and fun game to watch.

We need like a 1/2 agree icon to click on!

I'm not sure if Brady will destroy our D but we do have yet to stop a better team.
We did put the brakes on the Eagles but that was Sanchez.
The only way I see us winning this right now is with our offense.
