http://www.jsonline.com/sports/pack...eport-card-defense-b99656529z1-366332901.htmlHe looked more like a weight-lifter than a football player. Starting with Game 14, he turned his season around and now has to be under consideration for another contract. Guion's pass rush was a major disappointment, especially considering he moved outside from NT last year. His pressure total crashed from 16 to 3 1/2. However, Guion finished second on the unit in tackles per snap (one every 8.3), and some of his play in goal-line and short-yardage was stunning. Grade: C-plus.
Would you rather pay Guion for his good play towards the end of the season, or Raji for his good play at the beginning of the season? And Guion is the cheaper of the two. Here's part of what
Agreed but what is his compensation for the first two years? And what incentives are in the contract?Well, there´s no doubt Guion´s play improved at the end of the season. I hope paying him an average of $3.75 million per season based on five good games doesn´t backfire though.

At the moment no details about the structure of the contract are known.
The Green Bay Packers signed the veteran defensive tackle to a three-year, $11.25 million contract, mutliple sources told ESPN on Friday. He could also earn an additional $500,000 in incentives.
what about it don't you like? I mean, I'm not a huge Guion supporter, but i don't think the contract amount is outlandish for the production we've gotten. He's started slow each of the past 2 seasons, one because of injury and he made the team without even practicing and last year because of suspension, but I thought he was an above average player on that line after a couple weeks of playing time.Barring specifics of the deal, kind of reminds me of the Brad Jones contract extension. A bit of a head-scratching move IMO.
Well before he signed here two years ago, he was never much more than an average player, and for the most part last year he actually graded out as below average according to PFF.what about it don't you like? But according to his father, he only buys the best stuff so...That's a lot of weed!

Suffered a groin injury in Game 5, returned in Game 7 and just kind of held the fort until he began feeling and moving better in December. Started at NT in base and played some early downs in sub. Finished with six pressures, just 1 1/2 fewer than the last time he played (2013) but a far cry from '10, when he posted 33 1/2 in astronomical 85% play time. He's a consistent, smart, committed anchor against the run. He'll be unrestricted come March. Grade: B-minus.
Huge "ifs" imo. The Packers should know more about his character than anyone, but he appears to be a crime scene in waiting. If he plays like he did toward the end of the year and stays out of jail
