NFC North blogger Matt Mosely suggests that the Vikings would be first in line to land Donovan McNabb if the Eagles decide to let him go. Thoughts? This scares me personally. I think he would be a better fit with Minnesota than Favre would. They would be a tough team to defend.

I think it is possible. But I also dont' see why Reid would want to get rid of him. They aren't rebuilding and I dont' see Kolb as being ready or anywhere near as good.

It would be ironic though if Reid was ready to deal him and the Vikes couldn't pull the trigger because they were waiting on word from farvre and didn't want to "push him out the door". I can honestly see this as a possible outcome. Brett's not decided so they can't trade for another starter. Then McNabb gets traded somewhere else and then favre retires or at most plays one more year.

NFC North Blog - ESPN

Just read the blog. The guy makes some good points. If I were the Vikes, I would rather have McNabb than Favre at this point. At least McNabb won't jerk them around. How long can the Vikes wait on Favre if McNabb becomes available? Wow, that scenario sounds eerily familiar to me.......

I agree. I would think McNabb would have no problem running that offense, since Childress was the O-coordinator in Philly. The Vikes would have to be in the conversation for the Super Bowl again next year if they do trade for McNabb. He's also a great leader and teammate. He'd fit right in with Rice, Harvin, and Berrian. And if he is in purple next year, Brett won't be coming back to Minnesota should be decide to commence with Comeback 3.0 in August.

He scares me less than Favre.

I'd rather they start Jackson next year, but if it's McNabb that doesn't scare me a whole heck of a lot.

Yeah...I agree. If McNabb goes there, Favre is done. I just don't think its in Minnesota's best interest to wait around for Favre if there is a great free agent option that they can jump on right now. Best case scenario for us....no McNabb...T-Jack starts. I'm not worried about facing Favre next year.

Tavaris Jackson is a FA this year right?
How long did they sign "whats-his-name" for?
Seems like they paid a lot of money for him so it will be interesting what they do with him. (apparently not interesting enough for me to remember his name)

What about Vick? Not really a west coast passer, but he has spent some time in the system now in Philly. He seems to be the quality of people the Vikings like.

Honestly i cant see why the Eagles would get rid of him if they did and Vick became their starter i would lose alot of respect for the Eagles. Well really if Vick becomes a starter for any other team id lose respect for them...

but concerning McNabb, i feel like he just loses interest in games sometimes or just looks like he doesnt care. Idk, like against the Cowboys the last two weeks, i guess he was just really frustrated but he just didnt appear to be interested at all, maybe he gave up...who knows, just my opinion.

Kevin Kolb would be their starter. He's looked very good in limited playing time.

I'm not really worried about Mcnabb. He showed that this year in the playoffs that with some pressure he is pretty much nothing.

McNabb was interviewed not too long ago and said he doesn't want to be traded to any team.

Favre once said he'd retire before he played for anyone else... Of course I don't know that there is any evidence out there that Donovan is a egocentric pathological liar either...

Because the regular Brett Favre might be retired.

If I were them, i'd draft someone young and promising, but obviously they have a different approach.
If they trade for McNabb it would make me very happy.

I really like the guy and think he's a very good QB... But he's old and never won squat. He doesn't concern me...

Unless favre retires and guarantees him he won't change his mind - I don't see them going after anyone. The public outcry would be intense. That franchise has been so starved for good QB play, if you listen to the fanbase, you'd swear he'd been playing for THEM for 16 years.

I know.
They're not at all upset with him for ******** up the INT.
Just like how we are still supporting A-Rod.
That's fans for ya. They will love their QB no matter who he is and still want him around even though he may disappoint.

It's funny.
Viqueens fans always loved Burt.
They loved him when he screwed up for us and now they love him for how close he got them to the SB.

Can't understand why 'Queens fans welcomed Favre with open arms. Personally I wouldn't want the best player from a hated arch rival on the Packers. It would make me very hard to cheer for that player. For example.....if Urlacher became a Packer....I don't think I could cheer for him. I know you cheer for the uniform, not the man, but it would be very hard. My buddy is a Viking fan and didn't want the Vikes to win the super bowl because he said it would be tainted if they won it with Favre because he hated Favre so much for so long.

Allouez - That is one of the big reasons I was against Moss coming to us a couple years ago. That, and because he "plays when he wants to play".

BTW, of all the pics of ARodge for your avitar, you had to pick the one with the pornstash... classic. :band:
