Matt might be the one full of hot air.

Been a Packer fan since I was 12....now 60.
I may often sound negative but I think I am a realist with my own opinions.

It is impossible for me to root against them...but.....I despise Lafluer so much, and I am sure Pack isint doing much this year,
I almost want to root for the Giants just to get rid of Lafluer....but I cant.
Your frustration comes thru loud and clear.
I dont think MLF is a bad guy. I just think hes not capable of doing a good job calling plays and trying to stay on top of the bigger picture of game management and all that goes into it. That has hurt us along with a lot of other things.

It’s not easy to commit an illegal block in the back on a shanked punt with about half a second of hang time, but our special teams is always up to the task of sinking a little lower.

I’m so sick of hearing about how important Doubs is to us.

Dude couldn’t be more “just a guy”.

Even then, they could have been better on offense. But yeah, I'd take it.
Agreed. The best games offensively this year were against the Cowboys and the Steelers. The Detroit win was a defensive masterpiece - same for the Commanders.

And that is what is so confounding about this team. Last week, against a very talented Eagles' offense, they allowed 10 points. The D was terrific. The offense did, essentially nothing.

Then yesterday against the Giants the D can't stop the run, even though the Giants made it clear that's what they were gonna do. But the offense came through with a very good game.

What I'm hoping is that this team finally coalesces - offense and defense - starting with the Vikings. The 2010-2011 SB team was 6-6 after 12 games, finished (I think) 9-7, maybe 10-6 (was that the year Rodgers predicted they would "run the table" over the last four games? I think it was. Anyway they got the last WC position and won three on the road and beat the Steelers in the SB.

This team certainly has the talent on offense and defense (aside from the CBs, and they are playing better) to win anywhere, anytime. I don't want them to prove me wrong.

I do feel a little better about our offense after seeing how the Eagles shut down the Lions last night. A little better. I like our D, but the Eagles D looks even better. As you say, yesterday was a little rough though. The Giants outdid us in most offensive stats.

I get it Wayne. I'm no fan of MLF either. He's won a lot of games, with and without Rodgers, but hasn't taken the next step in the playoffs.

Gluten handed him a team full of talent in September (Ok, except the CBs), and injuries to Kraft, Reed, Jenkins and now Jacobs have taken a toll. But IMO it's a matter of executing plays, and they are not doing that. It's also a matter of creating a unique game plan for each opponent, and I just don't see that. The offense is talented, but predictable. And that's on MLF.

I don't want them to lose just so the HC can be replaced. But if they finish the season out of the playoffs, or have a one-and-done showing, it seems likely Policy will replace MLF rather than give him a new contract.

Maybe it's not fair to put it all on MLF, but he is the HC so he is responsible for all of the coaches, and how the players execute, especially on offense.

Finally, if it does come down to MLF being fired, I'd put Hafley at HC and hire an offensive play caller (same on D). I'm not fond of a HC who calls offensive plays.

I'm way ahead of myself. A lot of football is left. Go Packers!

No disagreement here. STs has not been special for as long as I can remember. Bisaccia was considered the best STs coach in the NFL when he arrived from the Raiders. That hasn't worked out so well.

Hey Adam - I don't think I'd label Doubs as JAG, he's better than that. He'd likely be the #2 or #3 WR on a lot of rosters. He is a great route runner with good hands (ok, not yesterday).

The Packers have a lot of receiving talent, but with Kraft gone, no one stands out as a "go to" guy (although Watson is quickly getting to that point, if he's not already there).

All that said, I don't expect Doubs will be back next year. He'll get a decent offer as a FA that will be too rich for the Packers. And given all the other talent they have, that's ok.

We are facing better defenses in all of the last 7 games. The Cowboys and Steelers had given up a lot of points before we played either. So if we can win our D will have to be the difference. Without Jenkins and Kraft we are not the same. And if we are limited or without Jacobs it does not get better. We have to generate turnovers and not just at the end of the game.

The ideal situation is this.

Banks continues small but measurable improvements. He doesn’t need to match Jenkins Probowl level peak quality, but be a more balanced both Run/Pass Blocker

Similarly Jenkins just never took off like we expected at Center. Truthfully he sprinkled in some struggles with untimely flags (one at goal to go) and triggered some penalties that showed his relative inexperience. Once again, Rhyan doesn’t need to play 2nd team All Pro. However if he can anchor better and elimate any negative plays (consistency) and be a slight improvement over Last years version of Myers, we’ll be ok.

Jordan Morgan really feels like he’s built for RT/LT. Yet he’s the most immediate answer at RG due to time spent there in rotation. I really think he’s still growing at Guard and if he can stay isolated for 5-6 games at RG
I think we’ll see him excel more regularly. The Pro scout reviews near unanimously projected him as a high quality Guard if he went that route. Well here we are.

We had a pretty good shakeup inside at LG, C, RG to start the season. Then it was mixed with some injuries that has us playing musical chairs. Like I said earlier Banks had 5 full games at LG and you generally don’t light things up on your first snap off injury. It’s still conceivable we get into that more league average Run Blocking once we get going.

Also Fitz is a good Run blocker and he’s seeing an uptick in playing time. Watson is a good blocking Receiver, that was a strength that he carried over from college, he’d drive his man into the bleachers. That totally legal, simulated pick was a thing of brilliance.. he sprung TE, Whyle wide open and I credit #9 with a key assist on that TD.

We’re dealing with some injuries but such is life. You’ve got to adapt and overcome. Luckily it didn’t happen late season with no reaction time. I truly think we will improve because it takes continuity and that’s not something we’ve been afforded like last year. Keep grinding we’ll see an uptick

I only disagree at RG. Belton has shown so many awesome snaps in pass pro and natural movement/pulling - that young man IMO just solved our RG of the future issues. Morgan needs to likely prove value at LT next year. Has there been growing pain - YUP. Has there been some incredible reps where you double take how effortless he wins a rep or reads a blitz - YUP.

@tynimiller

While I agree with you disagreeing with me agreeing… Is there a logical reason I’m not thinking of that you guys are debating ideas in a thread from 6 weeks ago?
