Studs:

Micah Parsons - Just blew up all over the place. Rare air.
Wyatt - 2 sacks and he appears healthy and quick
Wilson - he ran hard and made several nice cuts. Reminds me of Dorsey Levens
O line - run blocking was above avg today
Hafley - he had this D ready. its the right time of the year to see progress.

Duds:

Nein!

What a difference a week makes. JJ looks like he needs seasoning. Pressured him all day. The bears keep slopping out so this is gonna go down to the wire.

Studs Wilson, Parsons, Whelan...everybody
Note it looks like the line is better with Belton at R guard.
Dud LaFleur for running it every first down, for not hiking ball under center hardly ever and for not having a killer instinct. At least he's willing to throw on 2nd down now
Recall, first play of the game? Up the middle to Wilson.

McCarthy and Ponder...

After their first 6 starts...both were 2-4.

McCarthy 86/159 or 54.1%
Ponder 94/165 or 57%

McCarthy 929 yards or 155 per game
Ponder 1,081 yards 180 per game

McCarthy 5.8 yards per attempt
Ponder 6.6 yards per attempt

McCarthy 6 Pass TDs
Ponder 7 Pass TDs

McCarthy 10 INT
Ponder 6 INT

McCarthy passer rating 56.8
Ponder passer rating 74.6

McCarthy 20 sacks taken for 111 yards lost
Ponder 14 sacks taken for 96 yards lost

McCarthy 23 carries for 120 yards for 5.2 YPC and 2TD

Ponder 19 carries for 91 yards for 4.8 YPC and 2TD
Ponder was a fun guy to watch. Remember when he and AP beat us in a season finale but he suffered an injury and could not be in the playoff game the next week.

Yes. It is good that one side of the ball has a killer instinct
No help from the steelers or giants today although the giants came close to knockimg off the lions.. No problem. We can do it ourselves if we have to.

Correct. I think too many fans get caught up in style points. We won by 17 points and still had the ball in Vikings territory 1st n 10 Minn38 when we let the clock run off.
Did all that without our WR1, TE1. RB1

Imagine had Jacobs, Kraft and Reed been healthy. This is easily a 4+ score win. Better yet this effectively ended the Vikings season. Maybe not as statistically but no way does Minnesota Win out.
Style points are for chumps, losers and fantasy dorks.

Studs: Defense (2nd half defense was unworldly)

The closest the vikings got to the packers endzone was the packers 17 yard line, which they promptly turned the ball over after failing to convert a 4th down conversion.

Duds: I wanted to say the conservative offensive playcalling, because its always super conservative, but it might have something to do with injuries and an upcoming game in 4 days.

Bonus, If your favorite team wears purple, unless your are extremely delusional, you are in need of being talked off a ledge right now. Your Stars were there, your future QB was there, your core was there. You still got demolished.

Their only real poor outing this year was the 40 pts against Dallas. Giving up 39 total points in the 3 losses ( 10, 13, and 16) should all have been wins.

First and foremost you play to win the game. Does not matter how.
And they won.... By 3 scores

Seems like the "how" worked

Not sure what people are *****ing about. Id assume its based on the 2 3rd and 3s but if people turned on their brain for a second the first one we had just gotten done running it right down their throats that entire drive and just got stopped. **** happens. *****ing that the coach kept doing what got them down there in the 1st place is dumb

And the second one we were allready up 14 so a FG in essence has the same affect as a TD by making it a 3 score game late in the 4th so he put a priority on ball security and running time off

4 yards given up on 2nd half

Think Greg Olsen said it
Tge Vikings had only 1 long drive, running it pretty much at will down the field on us. Then consecutive 3rd and 1, and 4th and 1 stops to put an end to that. That was the turning point of the game for the Defense. After those 2 stops, the Vikings offense did absolutely nothing the rest of the game.

You know, this is Studs and Duds... it was very difficult finding any duds today, in the aspect of players. To have to pick out a couple of plays that could have extended drives and maybe turned into TD's in order to have a dud listed is pretty menial, and not really b****ing, and just stating a pass my have had a better result. This game was a beat down of a North Division rival who beat us both games last year. I'm extremely happy with the result today, and I essentially stated in the game thread after the 2nd 3rd and 3 run, that the consulation was it was now a 3 score game after the FG.

2 Viking Fan Duds:

I guess that maybe the 1st guy could be considered a stud, since he came prepared with the paper bag.

2nd guy...just an angry drunk Viking fan, who's trip back to Minny Ha-Ha got delayed.

Stud: patient playcalling/learning from past mistakes.

The GB Offense put up just 16 points if you take away our Teams giving us goal to go on that muffed punt. Yet in a low score game and playing with a lead you take the points and churn the clock. Especially once it became 17-6. It would’ve been very easy on several closing drives to forgo the FG points and risk a 1st down. However burning time off the clock and deflating our opponent towards the end of game has a point value. Kicking a FG from a probability standpoint is like gaining an extra +1 point because the momentum, loss of time, field position swing at kickoff. Very few people would suggest passing on a 4pt FG (the effect) in that gameflow.
IMO. We learned our lesson on 4th n 8 from the other week. We finally decided to trust what got us this far. Our Defense

I'm curious to see what Kamal Hadden's PFF grade will be. He came in to relieve Nixon after the injury, and quietly played a really nice game... no penalties, and not sure if he gave up any receptions.

Studs: Jeff Hafley. I hope we don't lose him.

Duds: 11 games in and still having to burn 2 timeouts to avoid delay of game penalties, at home (no crowd noise issue). Get the play calls in faster MLF, let her young QB break the huddle with 20 seconds on the play clock.
