I didn’t watch the game real time. I listened and tracked the play by play and gamecast. When I went back and watched it one thing I didn’t pick up on initially was how close Watson came to what would’ve been a TD or left us Goal to Go from inside the 5.
Now I’m not taking away from the Defender either but the ball was catchable, albeit not perfectly placed.

I’m not suggesting we got cheated or anything like that. However the point here is there were plays I believe we left on the field. Several opportunities in varying degrees of difficulty were all catchable but dropped by WR’s. These close games are always a couple of plays away from losing or winning.

1 Big miss like that is a loss in these low scoring games. I doubt anyone today is saying the Eagles are a bad team. Matter of fact most polls have them ranked #4. Yet the Packers once again bumbled around and tripped over themselves and STILL were in this game with a shot to win and 1:30 and timeouts. What would happen if we make a few small positive adjustments and an execute several critical plays better? We’d be at or above the Eagles. “How you lose” is next most important to “how you won”.

We’ve lost 3 total games this season by 9 points. Think about that. No opponents have beat GB by more than a FG and several of those game we either missed a FG or neglected to try a FG. 2 games were decided by a 49 yarder and 57 yarder. These aren’t blowouts but that’s what people are acting like. GB is nowhere close to out of the playoffs. That’s just talk.
What I dread this week is coming off a tough Monday night and having to play at Noon this week in NY. Even for a team in disarray it gives the Giants an edge. Last week the Cardinals won in Dallas on Monday and Sunday afternoon got shellacked in Seattle.

True.
That long distance Arizona factors here. The Cardinals had traveled over 3,500+miles inside 6 days before that Loss.
The Packers will travel 998 miles or about 2-hour flight and were at home last week. So no back to back traveling required. In that Arizona example they actually played good after the first leg of flights. Granted they had 7 days before traveling to our 5 days. Short weeks are never a positive but the flight has landed in the time it would take them to drive by car to Milwaukee.

This is the Packer forum...any comments about how well the Eagles did or did not play belong on the Eagles forum. We here are only concerned with what went right and what went wrong with the Green Bay Packers.

Come on man.

I'm sorry that you don't like reading comments about how opponents played against the Packers, but really? Football is a sport where 2 teams play each other and the play by every player on the field can influence the play of others.

I'm not going to waste my time and go back and look at your history of posts, but I can almost bet the farm on the fact that you have probably mentioned another team and/or its players in such posts.

IF you only want to look at Packer performances, in a vacuum, then this probably isn't the place for YOU?

OK, so curiosity got the better part of me. It didn't take long and I am happy to say, I still have my farm. :coffee:

Saquon was the best player on a sh*t team for years. He then switches teams, goes to the arch enemy and gets a ring. Most would say he pushed them over the top.

Guilty! @RicFlairoftheNFL
Sentenced to 100 hours of community complaining on an Eagles Forum! 50 hours to commence today until our next hearing in Postseason and 50 hours Suspended if you’ve thoroughly upset enough Eagles fans by that time.
Good Day Ladies and Gentleman the People’s court has adjourned!
(Viciously snapping of my Gavel to let out some remaining frustration over Packer losses!)

Who was President when I said that? I was right, Saquon went to a rival and made the playoffs. I'm also right by saying the Defense...THIS PACKERS DEFENSE lost the game and if not for them we win 7-3.

I mean by that logic the defense has lost us every single game we have ever lost.

All you are saying is "If our defense made it so our opponent had less points than us we would have won." Well, yeah.
But this is of course a nothing-statement. By this same measure it would be every bit as true to say "If our offense made it so our opponent had less points than us we would have won."

Any criticism of the defense is kind of insane to me. They allowed one big play. They allowed 10 points. Saquon had less than 3 yards a carry. Hurts didn’t run wild.

If the Packers defense gives up 10 points in every single game for the rest of their existence we will all die having witnessed many Packer Super Bowls.

Nice strawman argument.

I was merely telling you that if you don't like posters commenting about other teams, then you are in the wrong place. Not to mention I was proving that you yourself have done it in the past.

With this logic if the GB Defense scored a Safety and never let their opponent past midfield. Then on the last drive our opponent kicked a 68 yard FG to Win and we lost 2-3 it would be the Defenses fault we lost?

Is it possible Rickflair is Jordan Love?

Its impossible to talk to someone who is oblivious to the obvious. In this forum I would call that the Rick Flair syndrome.
Well in his Defense. Rick was known to want to energize the crowd! Flair definitely broke all the rules!

Wheeeeeeew!

I dont get why the packers are stubbornly sticking with mcmanus as the PK when he has been terrible over the last several games while Lou H has been perfect.
Does MLF have some deep connection with Mcmanus or is he being pressured by the higher ups to use Mcmanus. The way our offense has been going we need every point we can get so the choice of PK seems to me to be a no brainer for switching to Lou H and the recent data backs that up. This situation smacks of the joe barry regime where everyone could see his defensive designs were poor and ineffectice yet MLF kept him on which hurt us badly. Id like to know who is calling the shots on this one .

And also keeping Drayton into the playoffs after several ST blunders during the reg season - that burned us massively in the playoffs.

Wicks/Melton - Drops both of them and they were chest hit type ones that boggle my mind (concentration an issue).
That Melton ball literally bounced right off of his chest. That was pretty disappointing to see for a guy who really needs to make the most of his limited opportunities.

I honestly thought he was being facetious, until I saw the replies further downthread! :roflmao:

I'm FINE....I have my crayons and my jacket with the buckles in the back
I like you, so I want to be proactive here... do NOT eat the purple ones while drinking whiskey.

I ain't sayin'; I'm just sayin'. No need to get into the details... I've just lived a number of years and learned a number of things along the way. I'm just suggesting, don't eat the purple ones while drinking whiskey. You'll be happier if you don't.

A lot of these drops may look like fundamentals but more mental. In a game in which you face adverse weather conditions this is what you emphasize with young players BEFORE a game. BALL SECURITY. Focus on making the catch. RAC looks great in August but in November it will not happen every week.

STUDS:
Malik Willis for being totally prepared to go out there on the spot and play hi quality football. We didnt miss a beat with him in there.

Watson: at least we have one guy with reliable hands.

Love: crtical pass to savion williams on 3rd down to save the drive, tight throw to watson for TD with 3 defenders in the area.

MLF: not a stud but at least he has made the attempt to change his normal routine with some trick plays , more play action, RPOs etc to mix things up. Probably a big step for him.
Minus ..did not like the 3rd and short call
for a low % deep ball down the sideline. Stupid call. Just keep the drive going with a quick short out or something.

This isn't the game thread for Studs and Duds of the Giants game. This is the previous week.
