I've been wondering about this too. We haven't heard any news on this guy other than his illness in TC. He's been on ST and that's it.

People on here are fond of saying that it's not Dom Capers doing the tackling, but I have to be honest: this defense is very inconsistent. Capers' use of the prevent was a disaster. Yet he keeps using it. It was obvious to me that the DBs don't know their assignments well enough which is why the Vikings' receiver was left wide open on that crucial 3rd-and-11. That's the problem with the prevent--the defense doesn't play it enough to do it effectively.

.

How do we know it was prevent? And honestly, a man like Capers will use the same exact scheme even tho it fails time and time again? You really believe that?

All I am saying is that as regular fans we do not know what scheme was used..

I saw a Db that didn't follow his guy and it led to that catch...He follows that guy and maybe it isnt a catch, maybe Poner doesnt throw to him, or maybe we intercept it..

In all fairness to Terrel Manning, he was diagnosed with a nasty gastrointestinal illness, colitis I believe, in TC which caused him to lose something like 20 pounds. He recovered but I don't think he gained back the weight and was able to practice full out until the season was already underway.
Perhaps.... but July & August were a long time ago.
Guys can pack back on the muscle in a month these days.
And if he's really not "able" to play ILB, perhaps the Packers should have signed an ILB off one of the other 31 teams Practice Squads back in October, November?

We need help inside.... Hawk played like crap Sunday, and Jones is just not an INSIDE linebacker..... last year the loss of Nick Collins proved to be fatal IMO because Peprah killed us back there, missing tackles, being in the wrong spot allowing big plays to the Giants, letting Nicks bounce off him, not reading passes and coming up with a big pick like Collins might have, etc.

This year, I fear that Bishop's absence is the one we don't overcome. Of course, had DJ Smith also not gone down we might have been fine.

Temperatures in the single digits would give an advantage to the Vikings. For Aaron Rodgers, the higher the temp the better. The more I think about it, the Packers will be very challenged to win the rematch on Saturday night.

I still think they can win and the main reason is that we have Clay Matthews this time around opposed to the last Lambeau contest.

Positives Ross returning kicks
Matthews is back
All 4 WR in tow
Lambeau Crowd

Negatives 4 more quarters of All Day Peterson
Destroyed on the edges of the line of scrimmage in Week 17, will that change?
Late December Lambeau winds and cold meet Mason Crosby
Barclay a pass protection weakness

The Packers need a fast start this time around. Won't win if we get behind early by 13 points again.

WILL WOODSON PLAY or not THIS WEEK?

Did anyone here exactly what the injuries were to Boykin & Worthy?
Might as well lose Worthy for the year too like fellow 1st round picks Perry, Bulaga, Sherrod, lose a high 2nd round pick too. Perfect f**** bad luck.

Take some 49ers out please... one of their ILBers would be nice. We've lost 2.

If we havn't stopped him the 1st two games then we have to face the fact that we wont stop him in the 3rd meeting. Ponder on the other hand has to be pressured and forced to turn the ball over. Cannot let him have a good game to.

We aren't going to stop AP. Everyone knows that but we have to make him pay a price for his yardage. That means putting a helmet on him and punishing him for the yards he gets. We can't let him run wind sprints out there like we did the last game.

If the Packers can start the game strong on offense, and keep the foot on the gas throughout, the Vikings won't stand a chance. My guess is that the Packers defense will bring their best stuff come Saturday night, especially after being embarrassed.

you forget, Peterson hits back, and can apparently take more hits than our boys can. He seems more used to it

Unfortunately, I expect a solid victory, maybe almost a blowout for Green Bay. The Vikings don't seem to do well in adjusting and reviewing tapes, such as when we got beat hard by Chicago even with a bye week. GB will make adjustments this week and close the holes in their playing and get a solid victory over Minnesota. Plus Windfield might not play and even if he does, he won't be 100% and well...... you saw how bad the Vikings D got after Windfield came out of the game.

But who knows what will happen. In any case, I would rather the Vikings lose by 17 than by 3.

Wow. In 2005 the Vikings had Culepper at QB so it was not a pressing issue with the team at the time. And Williamson was considered a good pick by many in the league. No one knew his hand would turn to stone once drafted.

Winfield had nothing to do with it. Don't you know that Rodgers just picked up his game?

By best friend who has NFL ties with the Vikings, pleaded and begged the Vikings to NOT take South Carolina Gamecock Troy Williamson. That was a terrible pick. That was an Oakland Raider classic reach for speed.

Culpepper had just had a great year. But many knew he was not a big game QB.

Thank God they felt he was the guy and they avoided scooping Rodgers.
We didn't need him either, but great pick by our GM.

You guys could have had DeMarcus Ware & Rodgers instead of 2 colossal flops.
