They sounds about right that they would play on Saturday, cant have a team playing on 5 days rest. I have a bowling tournament on Sunday the 19th, so the game would set up perfectly for that set up.

Three hours of my life wasted.
What was really disappointing was that after the 55 yarder by McManus there was this euphoria by our young team as if the game was over. This is when coaches have to step. Let them know that the game is not won. We have 48 seconds to stop this team. Scream and holler if need be. Get the focus going.

After Starr made his Ice Bowl TD it was obvious that the Packers would win BUT Lombardi knew they had to kick off and stop one more play. And they did. Coaching never takes victory until it happens.

Yeah a 55 yard FG at Lambeau with the temp maybe in the teens - well that was just a huge kick. And it was a line drive and that requires a lot of leg strength.

But your point on "it's not over until it's over" is right. MLF lost focus on the clock and called a TO way too soon, well three seconds too soon. Funny things can happen at the "end" of a game.

Allows me to sleep later. Same time slot when we went in there to see Mike Vick on a Sunday in 2010.
We’ll get some rest for this battle. That’s also good for weather conditions overall. I do not know the Wind conditions yet but calling for H35 L23
I suspect it will be around 34 at Kickoff and 30 Degrees to close the game out. Very reasonable for an outdoor game in mid-January.

Just about where it was in the 2003 and 2010 Philly playoffs.

Well, at least he wants to have the Lambeau experience.
Yeah but.....the "best" Lambeau experience for visiting QB's is from the ground and looking up or chasing a Packer that just intercepted your pass.

I understand opposing QB's wanting to celebrate with a Lambeau leap, but lets hope the 2025 Packer defense doesn't give them many such opportunities.

Players have to be careful with that Lambeau Leap. As young as they are they can get hurt. Dorsey Levens had a fan spill his beer on him when he landed in the seats.
I think quite a few players have had a beer bath doing the LL. And that wall is high. Even lighter players like WRs have to make that jump just right. Watson is the only guy who makes it seem easy.

Caleb Williams publicly "crying" that Packer fans suck because fans wouldn't allow Bears players to Lambeau Leap. Is he REALLY that stoopid to think it would be allowed? Fans have shown over the years that visiting team players are not to be Leaping!
While I think the risk is probably minimal, opponents are just plain dumb to try the LL. Unless they jump into a huge crowd of their own fans (very unlikely at Lambeau), it's risky. And the later in the game, the more drunk the crowd, and especially if the Packers are losing at the time - well it's just not a good idea. I'm surprised no one has ever been injured doing it - like a twisted ankle on landing.

But hey, it was invented at Lambeau and is a damn fine G&G tradition. Caleb Williams can pound sand.

IIRC, opposing players that do it usually have pre-spotted a few friendly fans along the rail. Those seats sell for a nice premium on the ticket sites so people can pay to be in the front row.

That surprises me. He can look like a klutz jumping and lunging on the field and getting hurt. But on the LL he is an Olympic 10.

Was only a Family Night scrimmage, but my family had endzone, row 1 seats and got leaped on twice!! Jermichael Finley (I'm wearing the jersey w/ arm raised), & shortly after Brandon Jackson in my wife's lap :) .

Rolled my eyes at that. I get it, gotta go with the 'X team's fan su<k' when it is a rivalry because it gets the fan base all frothy, but if he really has an issue with that or surprised then he really isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Yeah for a guy who is so athletic and fast, he can look clumsy on the field. He relies a lot on speed, and that's fine. But Doubs and Reed are better route runners and have better hands.

I do hope he returns early so the Packers can get a gauge on his abilities before his third season is over. I like him, seems like a good guy and a good teammate. But he has to put the injury problems behind him - and prove he can be an impact player in the NFL.

7-8 regular season games and 3 to 4 playoff games is plenty for Gute to gauge his GB future. ;)

I remember when Jordan first started after that KC game there were some posters really doubting Loves abilities. Some mentioning our opponents D will just load up the box. Here we are going into 2+ years later and Love has become one of the more aggressive Long-Ball Passers. Right up there with Trevor.

I don’t think Love has reached his ceiling. 3 things that could help him this year in 2025 are:

1. Sean Mannion had specifically mentioned that he is bringing his experience of footwork training into the equation. I think Rodgers footwork was a key to bringing out his most successful seasons as a Pocket Passer. Once he mastered that he became dangerous in the Pocket. If Jordan focuses on this area I feel like it’s a catalyst to raise him to that next plateau.

2. Decision making. There is no training like live games. Many of us in here have mentioned this. When Jordan was just beginning as a Starter, his lack of experience showed up in big moments. It takes repetition and making some mistakes along the way to refine any craft. Jordan now has 33 Starts, played in 42 games and finished 3 Road Playoff games against some very high octane Defenses.
He’s really at an area where he’s becoming an established Veteran Passer. As mentioned earlier, year 3 for a Starting QB (or many athletes) in the same system is one where your floor and ceiling begin to rise. It’s an area he’s still at optimal physical condition, but the cerebral part of the game should be slowing down for him. Once you stop having to think so much you become much more confident and the game just flows. I’m expecting that some in 2025.

3. Team talent. In retrospect, this is the best assembly of talent on Offense that Jordan has been surrounded by. From a mixture of OL upgrades to Weapons to raw experience, 2025 offers a clear advantage over 2023-2024. We are more experienced, have more raw talent upside and acquired far more speed across the board than anything Jordan had worked with.

Just beat the damned Bears. I don't like them or their fans. Just saying... AGAIN.
Going through old posts is great.
I knew you didnt think it was "just a game to sit starters".
I feel the same way. Seeding be dammed......BEAT Da PACKERS!!!!!!!!!
Every chance we get.
One of my all-time favorite quotes is by Woody Hayes..... They were beating a team by like 40 points and they scored a touchdown and he went for the two point conversion.
After the game, he was asked why he went for two and without missing a beat he looked in the camera and said "because it's against the rules to go for three"!!!!!!! My freakin guy!!!!!!!!!!!
