This is the part I can't figure out.... How much of this comes down to Love and his strengths/limitations and how much comes down to coaching?How do you and I see that, but MLF doesn't seem to? I am not much of an X and O's guy, but this one is so fricking obvious to me.
I guess what I'm getting at is that at times it still feels like Love is handcuffed to some degree. Yes he still makes some head-scratching decisions from time to time. But it feels like there are still situations where we have yet to fully take off the training wheels. It's like we are still playcalling in such a way that it is designed to "protect" Love - and I don't mean physically just protect his body, but protect his play in the sense that...a lot of times we seem to call it pretty safe or conservative so as to minimize Love's risks.
And to some extent I get that. Like I said, he does make some baffling decisions occasionally. But I also think he is a guy who has some of his best qualities illustrated when he is allowed to play a little more loose. And IMO you can't commit 200m+ to your QB only to still treat them like they need training wheels I guess
