Zero2Cool
I own a website
Here at http://profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm they had the top scenario listed as the giants win, the packers win the packers are in the playoffs.
That's not accurate, at all. So I emailed them this.

I replied.
Few minutes later. I refreshed PFT.com and no longer did it say Giants win, Packers win, the Packers are in. That was removed. Then got another email.
Moral of the story is don't be messing up the Packers playoff scenarios. We come hunt you down!!

Here is what I have figured out. It is confusing. You should see my notebook though lol
Giants have to lose for the Packers to get in. If the Packers tie with them, Packers are edged out by Strength of Victory
The Giants control the Packers destiny nearly as much as the Rams.
Giants win strength of victory over the Packers. Unless a miracle, well 11 miracles happen.
For the Packers to edge the Giants in SoV. They need the following outcomes.
Lions
beat Cowboys
Vikings
beat Rams
Cardinals
beat Chargers
Dolphins
beat Colts
49ers
beat Broncos
Packers
beat Bears
Giants
beat Redskins
Falcons
beat Eagles
Seahawks
beat Buccaneers
Browns
beat Texans
Saints
beat Panthers
If that were to happen, the Packers SoV would be 0.4140625 and The Giants would be 0.40625.
Basically, if the Giants win, they are in.
If Rams win and Giants lose.
Falcons OR Panthers have to win to force a three way tie in which the Rams would be eliminated as their NFC conf record would be only 6 - 6 and the Packers would be 7 - 5. If neither Falcons or Panthers win and the Rams win, Packers are OUT.
If Rams lose and Giants lose, Packers are in. Neither the Falcons nor the Panthers hold a tie breaker advantage nor head to head advantage.

you need to look at playoff scenarios on NFL.com.
I replied.
I did. I also looked at the tie breakers.
Here is what is at NFL.com playoff scenarios.
NFC NORTH DIVISION
Chicago has clinched home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.
Green Bay can clinch playoff berth with:
1) GB win + NYG win + GB clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over NYG, OR
2) GB win + NYG loss or tie + STL loss or tie, OR
3) GB win + NYG loss or tie + CAR win, OR
4) GB win + NYG loss or tie + ATL win, OR
5) GB tie + NYG loss + STL loss + ATL loss or tie + CAR loss or tie
GB win PLUS Giants WIN PLUS SoV … it doesn’t say the packers HAVE SoV already. If you look at the Giants it says something similar for them.
NFC EAST DIVISION
Dallas has clinched playoff berth.
Dallas can clinch division with:
1) DAL win + PHI loss or tie, OR 2) DAL tie + PHI loss
Philadelphia has clinched playoff berth.
Philadelphia can clinch division with:
1) PHI win, OR
2) DAL loss, OR
3) PHI tie + DAL tie
New York Giants can clinch playoff berth with:
1) NYG win + NYG clinch strength of victory tiebreaker over GB, OR
2) NYG win + GB loss or tie, OR
3) NYG tie + GB loss or tie + STL loss or tie + ATL loss or tie + CAR loss or tie, OR
4) GB loss + STL loss + ATL loss + CAR loss
As you can see. Both teams can not have the SoV tie breaker so they are saying it is something that has to happen.
Few minutes later. I refreshed PFT.com and no longer did it say Giants win, Packers win, the Packers are in. That was removed. Then got another email.
