Ripkowski played 32 snaps in the first meeting carrying the ball six times for 34 yards.

Did I mention that I was tailgating for a good 3 hours before kickoff and spent much of the 1st half in a the mens room and the second half trying to get sober. Lots of Packer fans at the tailgate, probably one of the better team fans to party with.

I try to get that all out during the tailgate. I like to start early, go often and get good and dehydrated before going in :) 2 big 9$ beers is enough for the first half then and leaves me good till we have to leave. Maybe 1 break in the stadium.

I usually pace myself with Coors light but that day I specifically remember some strategically placed shots of Jamison that took me off of my pace. Im a Georgia guy but im actually active duty Army stationed at Ft. Drum NY now. I say this because I attended to 2x Buffalo Bills games this year and man...what a difference! That place is out of control for tailgating...im talking about 40+ year old adults acting like Frat boys.

Question for the Packer fans:

How many of the 70,000 seats in the GA Dome do you estimate will be occupied by Packer fans?

I think at least 10,000. Here is why. This is a melting pot city and the Packers have a huge following in ATL. Im talking transplants that live here. Additionally, many Falcon fans can be fickle and will sell their tickets to make a quick buck.

Yeah i saw that. To me its not a big deal and that business owner has to do what he has to do to make money. Week in and week out Packers fans go to that tavern and provide the place with substantial revenue. There are also Steelers and other "blue blood" fan bars in the ATL. It is what it is. The mistake that this guy made was publicly calling for a "pep rally". Its all good but think of it this way. Would Packers fan have a negative reaction if the NY Giants orchestrated a pep rally in Green Bay for local Giants fans a few weeks ago? In the end, this will still be great publicity for the Tavern. Packer backers will support this guys business for years to come and now he has a name.

I expect that much like the Russians in Rocky IV, the entire Georgia Dome will be chanting "Packers, Packers" by the end of the contest

You must be logged in to see this image or video!

Wrong. The stadium will be empty minus some fans wearing green and yellow.

According to the Falcons fans on their forum boards, playing the actual game is just a formality, they have this game in the bag. One poster said all of the Packer injuries just gives the Packers an excuse after we lose. No humility over on that side. Anything can happen in these games. This is not regular season football! Go Pack!

Both offenses are phenomenal. Both defenses are marginal at best. It's a classic setup for a shoot-out
Atlanta played really well against the Seahawks. This will be a game predicated upon which team's defense can step up more than the other.
As a whole, the GB defense is getting healthier after Perry broke his hand and CM3 separated his shoulder late last year. I believe both Perry and Mathews are getting more comfortable each week with their recovery. I also believe, between Peppers, Perry and Matthews, that one of these guys will have a comeback party game this week and make a play(s) that will change the tide of the outcome of this game.
As much as it would be awesome to have Jordy back, I honestly don't think we need him. We should concentrate on getting him healthy for the SB if we do our job.
While we lost Jordy, we picked up Cobb, Montgomery and Cook..who were all inactive in Atlanta in October. Another point is GB will have Ty Montgomery and Christine Michael running Sunday which is an obvious upgrade over
Don Jackson and Kniles Davis last meeting
While these changes are no guarantee of success against a very formidable Atlanta passing game, I believe we have a strategic edge to get another upset on the road.

Is it the "Atlanta Falcon show" or the "Atlanta Fraud Show"?
I've seen the Atlanta Falcons show every year since 1980, but you said that like the Packers have never **** the bed in the playoffs before. The loss you had to the Seahawks in the NFCCG where you were winning 19-7 with 4 minutes left and had the ball...was probably the worst collapse in NFL playoff history. As much as Atlanta has the "choke gene"...you are obviously not immune.

I was at that game and tough one no doubt but you guys have been "pitching fraud" for years. That Seahawk team was a better team then this Falcon team btw.

Matt Ryan is 2-4 in postseason. Instead of Roddy White its Julio Jones. Its the same thing but everyone in Atlanta is hoping Dan Quinn is the guy to get ya to the promise land.

Well find out soon enough.

I dont know what forum your in and cant say i know any Falcons fans that share that opinion. Try Falconsroost.com if you want the true pulse of old school Falcons fans. Been a member there before the internet was invented.

I was reading up their forums too. Because Atlanta beat Green Bay earlier in the season they are going to win again is one post I read. Quinn is 3-0 against Green Bay so Atlanta will win is another. Another guy really thinks Atlanta defense will shut the offense down. Also AR has 8 TDs to only 5 INTs and a 60% completion percentage in Green Bay's playoff loses since the Super Bowl run, because that's a useful stat.

I've seen a few mentions by the media of Dan Quinn's success vs. Rodgers.

To me, it was Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, and company who had the success. The Seahawk defense was loaded with talent against Rodgers, which Atlanta's defense doesn't have.

Quinn's defense didn't even do anything special against Rodgers. He had the players to just line up and play a simple scheme.

Depends on how you spin it. Matt Ryan is 2-1 in has last 3 playoff games and would have been 3-0 had Navarro Bowman been called for illegal contact on Roddy White on the last play of the Falcons final drive in the NFCCG. Who knows maybe we beat the Ravens in the SB had we got that call. The only playoff game where Ryan actually didnt play well was the GB game in 2011, but our defense was no match for your offense and Ryan's pick six before halftime sunk us. I do not understand the Roddy White vs. Julio comparison. Roddy was a tough possession WR, barely a #1. Julio is top 3 in the game year in and year out with elite speed and size. .

If i were you guys i would be concerned about going on in Vegas. Last week Vegas got buried because 2x underdogs on Sunday (Pitt and GB) won straight up. Vegas got crushed. This week the Falcons opened as 4 pt favorites and are now 5pt favorites. Meanwhile 80% of the Money is being bet on the Packers...yet the line is not going down. Reverse line movement like that is cause for concern...unless you thing Vegas likes to lose money.

Yeah i saw that....

Bashing the bar for hosting a Packer event isn't that big of a deal in and of itself as long as its relatively good natured. But doing it through negative Yelp reviews can have a long lasting negative impact on the business. And for what? Hosting some GB fans on a non-game day? My wife is a hotel manager and I can tell you it's not easy to get BS bad reviews removed from these sites.

I don't think any of us are worried about what Vegas thinks about the game.

moved on the uncertainty of some of the injuries i would guess. good point/post though.

edit: also wondering if it's moved due to the AR family garbage rearing its ugly head again. pretty convenient timing for another slough of stories.

Rodgers and the Packers offense were in the midst of a period in which they struggled at the time we faced the Falcons in week 8 but yet were able to score 32 points. Once again, in my opinion it´s ridiculous to think Atlanta´s defense is anywhere near as good as one of the four top six defenses the Packers faced over the last few weeks while averaging 37 points in those games. I´m done arguing with you about it though as it seems you´re confident Quinn has found Rodgers´ kyrptonite because of having had some success in the second half nearly three months ago.
Well dan Quinn is 3-0 against Rodgers.. but hey your right we should just box the trophy up and send it to GB and not even bother playing the game bc there's no way our defense could possibly out perform their defensive ranking on a given sunday. It's great to be a fan but when you lack perspective you come off as arrogant. I wish you luck Sunday.
It's not just DQ that found his kryptonite. When teams play press coverage he struggles if he can't escape the pocket and buy an extra 8 seconds.. NY had him on lock till DRC got hurt. Dallas had him on lock the second half until they lost contain on a classic Arod buys 10 seconds play. GB is beatable I'm sorry to inform you. We will have to play 100% disciplined football to win.

Like I said Rodgers will make plenty of plays nobody's denying that.. but I believe we can string enough good defensive plays to get him off the field 2-3 times in the game

IDK...it really could mean nothing because sometimes the Public mops up and kills Vegas. Sometimes the public gets buried. My only point was that Vegas got buried last week and that came right back out with this crazy line, knowing that square bettors dont trust the Falcons.

I'm more concerned about going in without Adams, Allison and Jordy than I am about anything the defense is going to do to us.

Another interesting point is Quinn was coaching against his former team last Sunday. I know leading up to the game Seahawks fans were quite concerened about him knowing how to pick there D apart. Also, That Seahawk secondary was even more beat up then when we played them. A couple of the Seahawks db's looked lost and Terrell must of cost Seahawks about a 100 yards by poor tackling alone. I expect our guys to play better. It was impressive for Falcons to contain Seattle's front but we had similar success.

Also, I wouldn't get all that excited about slowing down a very inconsistent Seahawk offense with the worst OL in the NFL and missing two of there biggest "speed players".

A lot of teams shut the Seahawks down this year so i dont wanna hear all this "battle tested" crap.

We've had a much tougher road in the playoffs to get to this point.
Yea you had a tougher road only bc your team started the season 4-6 and had no choice but to make a run against a string of not very good teams.

Nyg is a dumpster fire on offense and their WRs lost them that game on the Monday before it was played. Their defense did have you figured out untill it melted down after DRC got hurt in the first half and Eli apple **** the bed.

The cowboys were down 21-3 yet somehow managed to make it 31-31 in the second half.. that shouldn't have been possible if a team hadnt figured out to slow arod down enough to allow a comeback. That shouldn't have happened if Arod is 100% unstoppable like people on here claim.

Like I said before let's just box the trophy up and send it to GB. There is clearly no possible way the Falcons can stop Rodgers from scoring every single possession...

Several teams have held a pep rally in Green Bay. I know Favre's steakhouse hosted one for the Vikings several times. Most locals don't care after the final whistle. The Packers have a fan club that is proactive in uniting fans from around the country to meet up when the team is in town. Just like there are most likely Packer bars in every state. Put it this way, the Packer rally in Atlanta will most likely pack the joint Saturday night. Would it make the same $$$$ without it? Will it hurt future sales? doubt it.
