They got their usual 2 runs early, and apparently are coasting to the end. I'm really disappointed and concerned about the way they've played down the stretch; does not bode well for October.
The Playoffs are a new season, the battle is just making it. Good luck to the Brewers, and all you Brewers fans on this forum.

Well, I'm glad I didn't make the 2-hour trip up to Cincinnati to see this one.

Between June 12th and August 18, the brewers were 40-18 (.688). Since August 19, they're barely .500 - 20-19.

I'm not confident going into the postseason. We barely backed in, with no momentum at all.

While the league has waned away from Home Field Advantage from past years, the Brewers are one of the Top 5 Teams left who are predicted to benefit from it. Only 2 Teams have posted a better Road record thus far in 2025. Also the Brewers average Pitching 9.5 Strikeouts while at home. They also have a 18-6 record in 1 score games at home.

There is a recent trend for Teams winning Road games in Postseason (see the 2023 Rangers record breaking Road streak). However there are some notable teams that still seem to defy that trend. Here’s an interesting 5 minute read from a few weeks ago concerning Road vs. Homefield Advantage In more recent times.

Also I never saw this part stated. Keep in mind these show Win:Loss ratio. It was never stated how a #1 Seed still effectively offsets that because they get a First Round Bye. Which immediately increases their odds. There’s zero Question in my mind that the #1 seed is anything but advantageous. Rest, immediate advance to 2nd Round et.

Well... the Reds have made them look learning impaired. Today, the Crew has the opportunity to win their team record 97th win against... the Reds. The Reds currently have the same record as the Mets who bounced Milwaukee last year and seem to be an obstacle since David Stearns left Milwaukee for the big bucks.

If Cincy wins, they have the last playoff spot and the Mets go home. If the Mets win... Cincy goes home. Wouldn't it be something if a Brewer loss sends the Mets home this season - and a Brewer win, keeps them in to strike at our heel again? Uh... sad to say that last sentence makes sense in my head....not so much as I re-read it. :roflmao:

I won't make any predictions as to the Brewers post season fate, but...I think that once they secured a spot in the playoffs, the team has been focusing on resting injured players and getting as healthy as they can to make an October run.

I would be more worried about doing that if Baseball was like football, basketball or even hockey, when rust can really effect team play.

The one thing about baseball, that is different from a lot of team sports, is that while you field a team of 9 players, plus a pitcher, most of the game, they are all playing as individuals. When your team is on offense, it's just a batter against the other team, with some baserunners mixed in on occasion. On defense, outs are typically made by 1, 2 or maybe 3 players interacting. So I guess what I am getting at is this. The Brewers ended up getting exactly what they wanted, homefield through the World Series. They are probably as mentally and physically relaxed as any team in baseball. While their pitching staff has been banged up, this has given their starters some much needed days off to rest their arms.

Unless Woodruff completely recovers from his injury and can go, I think the Brewers end up using a 3 player pitching rotation with Peralta, Priester and Quintana. Given the off days for travel, and the fact that the Brewers have that first round bye, I don't think that would be a bad thing.

I also think that once the playoffs start, you see players dialed in and much more hungry at the plate.

The baseball season is a long and grueling 162 games. The Brewers were the first team to secure a playoff spot and have mostly coasted since. Of all the teams that will be playing in October, set aside injuries, I think they will enter the playoffs with the most mentally and physically rested and possibly best team in baseball.

Let's go win that World Series for Ueck!

Brackets are set. Personally, I wish they didn't do fixed brackets. The Brewers being the #1 Seed, should play the lowest seed to come out of Round 1, like the NFL does it. But, they don't.

The Brew Crew will play either the Cubs or Padres in a best-of-five series beginning on Saturday, October 4, with games one and two, the second of which will be on Monday, being played at American Family Field. The Brewers will travel either to Wrigley Field or Petco Park for games three (Wednesday) and four (Thursday), if needed. A potential game five matchup would be back in Milwaukee on Saturday, October 11.

Congrats to the Brewers and their fans. They've got a great shot at winning the whole thing with the talent they have on their roster. I'm rooting for them to take the WS rings home to Milwaukee.

As for my White Sox, we managed to lose 102 games this yar. A lot better than last year but still not acceptable.

The Playoffs have started today.

I have been thinking about who I hope makes it through to play the Brewers, the Cubs or Padres?

While I think an I-94 Brewers-Cubs matchup would be sexy, especially given who now manages the Cubs, I would prefer seeing the Padres come to Milwaukee.

I think the Brewers match up against the Padres better and their chances of making it to the NLCS is higher. The Padres starting pitching is just "meh" with only Pivetta being that intimidation. The Padres do have a decent bullpen, but I think we have a better and more complete lineup top to bottom

Fingers crossed that whatever team comes out of the Cubs-Padres series, they go 3 games and most of them involve a lot of extra innings and long rain delays. :whistling:

Tigers 2, Guardians 1... Yeah!!! Tarik Skubal 7 2/3 innings, 3 hits, 14 K's... He is a handful for any team to face.

Sounds like Contreras will be a go for the playoffs. I wasn't that worried about his injury, but you just never know.

Go Padres....force a Game 3!

Any word on Woody?

I read that he recently saw his shoulder surgeon in Dallas, and his status remains "up in the air". The Brewers don't have to announce their NLDS lineup until Saturday, so we may not know until then.

I'm still not a fan of the Wild Card round. With all the money that the MLB has, they can't have a 3 game series that gives the team with the worst record a Game 2 in their own park? Slap in the fans faces as well.

Just really an unfair format IMO. You play 162 games and because you lose 1 more game than another team or even lose the tie breaker, and you have to play all 3 games on the road?
