Oh, sorry Milani, I thought it was Caleb again.;)
We have to play the Bears twice. Both of last year's games came down to a game ending FG try. This year the same could happen.

After some late Monday night excitement week 6 is now in the rearview mirror. Longtimefan and Milani had the week's best records at 11-4. Milani is tied for the overall best record with Voyaguer and longtimefan at 61 correct picks. On the downside, all Milani has is one spread bingo so he's a bit starved for points.:( He's in need of some better luck like he's had in our past contests.

Meanwhile, Tynimiller did get lucky, and took a wild charge up the standings by scoring 220 points. A very nice week. To date we have had 7 score bingos and 53 spread bingos.

It's a tough week when nobody can get 75% out of it. There were a lot of surprising outcomes in games. Thanks for all the hard work being done on this game. It's a lot of fun.

The Bears got lucky. Washington is at 3rd n 1 on the Chi40 and a pair of 1st downs there and Chicago is forced to start burning their last 2 timeouts. Basically 2 tries for 1 yard in no man’s land.
A second 1st down and game over Washington Wins and Washington wouldn’t even need to score.

Result? Jayden fumbles back to Chicago for a 3rd Turnover at great field position Chi44 only up by 2 points. Total disaster finish by Washington. Hard to win many games with a -3 turnover ratio
I don't believe much in luck. Chicago just showed the power of TOs in winning a game. Good for them. TOs is an area of improvement for the Packers.

And Penix Jr outduels Allen? What a weird Monday.

Wait, wait wait wait wait, the Bears got lucky?????
The first three offensive drives for Washington. They were gifted 15 yard personal foul penalties that were ridiculous.......
Then had a touchdown, And might I add what a phenomenal touchdown it was throw and catch, on a phantom penalty that even Troy Aikman was like that was not a good call by the referees......
Now ask for the fumble things happening in football games it's raining. It's late in the game. You're tired. You gotta stay focused. J. Daniels made a mental mistake. He didn't look the ball all the way in and he Didn't control it.....
It's not like he ran the other way and scored points. We had to go go down the field and make another field goal so...... Oh, and by the way, that kicker was on the practice squad a month ago......
It was fortuitous play that gave us the ball, but we capitalized on it and the refs the weather. Everything was going against us in this game and we still found a way to win that's all that matters.....

Maybe it was Karma that did it for the Bears? That TD pass to Odunze that was called back for illegal formation which was bogus seems to make up for it. They wouldn't have needed the FG to win. It all kind of balances out. There are so many little things that happen during the ebb and flow of games and so many of them impact it throughout. It's amazing.

About luck itself. I think a lot of people believe it just happens. I don't. I think someone who is lucky is usually someone who has been putting themselves into a position for something positive happen finally has the ball take that type of bounce, so we create our own luck.

Probably could have used the refs that we had Sunday.

There have been more oddball plays this year than I think I've ever seen. I think the officials by and large do a good job, but they do get it wrong sometimes and it needs to be corrected. For those people who say it takes too much time. Apparently, they don't really want to watch the game, want it over, so they can do something else. In my case, I want it called as right as possible, correcting mistakes in officiating as it goes, to ensure the contest is as fair as possible. There's a lot riding on every game and every play and I'm not talking about in gambling. I'm referring to the careers of players and coaches as well as the true enjoyment of the game by those paying to watch it.

As for the bad officials, the replay situations and reviews by the home office chiefs of officiating is weeding them out. This is something that's necessary for the integrity of the game.

I always think about how long MLB put up with Ángel Hernández who I don't think was good enough to call a T-ball game. He should have been gone before his first season was through.

Hernández certainly had an over officious ego.
