Oh, poor Joe Montana... he looks old. Old and tired....
Edit: Wow... I just googled him; he's got tons of health issues. Severe arthritis in his hands, knees, and elbows, and an artificial hip, knee, and shoulder - one of which became badly infected, and required several surgeries over a period of months, at least 3 spinal fusions, permanent nerve damage causing numbness in one foot and leg, and high blood pressure. Some of those spinal injuries date back to his playing days. He also had a serious surgical procedure just a few weeks ago, from which he says he will have a long and difficult recovery.
But there he is at mid-field, doing the honors with the ceremonial coin toss. He looked like he had a hard time making it all the way out there. I admire the hell out of the guy for not letting it stop him from living his life, but it's really painful seeing the poor man going through this. I had no idea at all.
Hard to believe he's only a year older than I am. Kinda scary.
