While a game 5 win at home would be rather fun for Brewer fans, I am just fine with the Brewers winning tonight in Chicago! Philly won last night against the Dodgers, so that series is also sitting at 2-1. Ideally, Brewers win tonight and the Dodgers drop another one to force a game 5 in Philly. The NLCS starts on Monday, no matter who is playing.

I can't figure out which of the 2 teams I would rather see the Brewers face in the NLCS. While the Brewers did sweep the Dodgers in all 6 games this season, the Dodgers starters have been hot over the last 2 months. With the Phillies, The Brewers did win 4 of 6, but I really dislike Philly fans.

I guess I should just hope for the Brewers to advance and may the worst team advance between the Dodgers and Phillies, after a grueling 29 inning game 5. :D
Oh no ya don't... I'm not looking that far ahead and I'm gonna schmooze the baseball gods invoking the old and tried and true ... "may the better of the two teams prevail in a sportsman like manner.

Brewer Pitchers continue to get shelled in the 1st inning. I may have to start watching at the start of the 2nd inning.

Not a fan of Ron Darling doing commentary. Wish I could sync my radio to the TV broadcast. Radio stations should delay their signal and sync with Network broadcast.

The Phillies are out now. There was a thread about the Philadelphia fans with their sports. Suddenly, a strong season by the Phillies has been turned into a catastrophe by their fans. I suspect if for some reason the Eagles were to fail this year it means the end of the world.

Who's pitching for the Crew tomorrow?

Freddie pitched last night, so he is 100% out.

Priester only pitched 2/3 of an inning on Wed. night, but gave up 4 runs.

Quintana would be my choice. However, while he only pitched 3 innings on Wed. night, he threw 49 pitches doing it. He might not be ready.

Do you risk going with starting The Miz?

Or you roll the dice and throw a bullpen game again?

1: Quintana (open with him and see how he looks)

2-3: Chad Patrick

4-6: THE MIZ

7: Jared Koenig

8: Trevor Megill

9: Abner Uribe FOR THE SAVE

I'm not a Mariner or Tigers fan, but every AB has me nervous. They're going to 13!

Middle of the 14th, and both sides have thrown a hell of a lot of pitches. There are going to be a hell a lot of sore arms tomorrow morning!

Finally!!! Exactly 5 hours of baseball. Seattle fans are lucky this wasn't a school night.

Congratulations to the Mariners, and much respect to both teams for a classic series and Game 5!

The Tigers/Mariners game was what makes baseball great. 15 innings of Pitchers dealing, No ghost runners to start an inning in extras, edge of your seat craziness, and regardless of the final score, it was just an awesome game to watch.

As a Tigers fan, who had to sit through 15 innings of the best torture a fan can experience, and then come out on the losing end, all I have to say is....

Thanks for letting me talk some Tigers on the Brewers thread this season. Baseball is a game for everyone, I love the Packers, but baseball is and has always been my passion, because it was the one sport I excelled at. I will be rooting for the Brewers tonight, I hope they can beat those pesky Cubs.

Thanks for the support D. I think turning a fastball into any kind of hit is one of the hardest things to so in sports. And even the best are only successful 30% of the time.

I tried baseball but have truly lousy hand-eye coordination. I can't hit anything - baseball, softball, tennis ball, golf ball - nope, I'm lousy at all of these sports.

Fortunately, that means I never played racket ball when I was in my 20s and 30s, despite its prevalence in everyday sports. I know so many guys who did play RB and almost all of them have a f'd up rotator cuff. I recently had a total shoulder replacement, and these have better outcomes when the RC is intact. So my lousy H/E coordination kinda helped me......

Sorry about that. Yeah those games are a helluva lot more fun when your team wins. Detroit played well in the early part of the year, then faded, but made a run at Seattle. Now I hope the Brewers can get one more win against the Cubs. I'm feeling good they'll be winners tonight at home.

Before the playoffs began, the odds of a Phillies/Mariners World Series was over 75%. Well the Mariners are still playing but the Phillies get an unexpected early exit. I know Wheeler wasn't available, but even in his absence, the Phillies should have won that series.

That's a good lineup for a "bullpen" game. It's so risky - but I have a feeling if the Brewers get past the first inning, which has been anathema to both teams, they'll breathe a sigh of relief and play relaxed and win.

I'll be interested to see if Murphy plays this lineup of pitchers. Seems very possible.

I wouldn't rule out Peralta getting an inning or two if needed.

Starting Miz is tempting. He has shown he can dominate for an inning or three. He has also has huge control problems and has given up some big innings. I don't think he'll start - pitching 4-6 sounds about right.

Nah, I doubt he pitches. He threw 84 pitches on Thursday night, the Brewers won't risk injury by putting him out there on 2 days rest. Plus, if they win, they will probably start him Monday night against the Dodgers. I'm not saying it is completely out of the question, but I highly doubt Murph risks throwing Freddie out there.

I am guessing both Managers know who they will have on the mound for the 1st inning, but a good cat and mouse game not announcing it.

Obviously, by my post, I was thinking about you last night during the game. Like I said, I had no skin in the game and I was nervous during every AB. So many chances for both teams to drive in a run during extra innings and the defenses just kept making the stops.

You are right, last nights 15 inning classic to me is what separates Baseball from Football. Sure OT in an NFL Football game is exciting, but all that pressure on a single guy (the batter), who with one swing of the bat could end the game, is like lining up to kick 65 yard game winners, over and over again.

What does lose me in Baseball is the 162 games and sitting through what seems like so many meaningless innings during those games. Regular season baseball is a good background radio thing for me.

I watch baseball, with the volume down, and a good book in hand, in between pitches....I did that last night, too. That game was so long, I read almost half a novel

I fell asleep in the 13th! While I had no allegiances, I did want Seattle to at least win the Divisional. I saw they’ve never advanced past that the Conference level (lost the Conference game) so they don’t get to experience winning too much. They are a relative historic underdog so good for them.

I do like the pitch clock and only 1 batter timeout. Man, in the "old days", just 1 pitch could take forever! I really think MLB does a much better job than the NFL when it comes to thinking about the fan experience, in the park and at home. Not saying both aren't profit driven Sports, but MLB has a much smoother way of mixing in commercials and stoppages in play. Hockey is even batter and still my jam for quick, non-stop, action.
