It`s great for me because if I buy a plant and it dies, I get drunk and don`t care.....lol

Some beers are actually made to age.

Don't just pick up a bud light and throw it in the cellar though. Higher ABV beers usually do best. Barleywines, Imperial Stouts, Sours...those are usually the best types to age.

Being honest, I wouldn`t pick up a Bud full stop . Horrible stuff.

If done right you don't even notice the high ABV in some beers (such as dogfish head as mentioned above).

I've had a few others that have had high ABV but a great smooth taste. Too late at night for me to think of them though. Stone Ruin Ten was one of them though. (10.8)
