I'm pretty sure this infusion of old school mojo, mixed with the current SUPER potent WR group.... Is going to be a very very very good for the mojo. It's like.... "We're getting the band back together", "We're on a mission from God"...... Lol

And I'm pretty sure Jordy was part of the 5wr set era... One HOF QB, and 5 of his favorite weapons. Donald Drivers world class humility, giving Green Bay a future hall of famer(Congratulations Smiley:) as out #5 WR.... The 5WR set was born. :)

Am I crazy to think Jordy has some of those plays stuffed in the back of his mind? Giving say,,,,future hall of famer Mathew Golden the #5 role??? The three amigos Doubs/Reed/Wicks, who all have developed chemistry with Love ove the last 3 years... Or Watson, And dare I say the hidden freak of nature #6wr Savion Williams, opening up the top, with some of those old Jordy Nelson double ziggity zag move he had that let him hit 6th gear clean and run right past the safety's....

I mean... Is Savion even #6? I'd hate to be the guy who has to put a number on it. It's like back in the GBP 6wr set days literally. Talent stacked so deep it almost looks greedy.

Hate to burst your bubble but this is not true. Jordy Nelson is not and I repeat “not” on the team as an assistant wr coach.
I would recommend sleep at night instead of being on page 469 of Google looking at “Latest Packer News” and trusting sources that say they are the # 1 Packers update and news when it’s a Facebook account called Packers pride zone and 2 followers.

It’s okay tho…. We have all been there… lol

Might as well turn this into something. Which retired, but still living Packers player(s) would you want to come back and be an assistant position coach/mentor?

OL - Bryan Bulaga
TE - ???
WR - I'd be fine with Jordy
RB - Edgar Bennett
QB - Doug Pederson
DL - Cullen Jenkins
Edge - Clay
LB - Brian Noble
S - Morgan Burnett
CB - Al Harris, but I'd accept Woodson too

The alums that I chose above reflect players that I think understood the game at a high level. I'm sure that there are lots of other good choices out there.

Only Edgar Bennet. He is a great position coach. When he was our RB coach, they were great. When he was our WR coach, they performed great. Proof is in the pudding.

The Big 5 with an empty backfield was used for a couple seasons because we had a good pass blocking O line along with a younger Rodgers that could escape. And when you could line up Driver, Jennings, Jones, Jordy, and Finley that terrified defenses. And with all that there was still Randall Cobb who could slide in place of one of them.

Yea I looked Cobbs rookie year. And Brett Swain was #6 wr. He was a favorite of mine too. I always thought he could've done well with more opportunity.

I forgot about Finley being on that roster too. The young Rodgers was stacked.

Oh, but Rodgers never had a 1st round WR... :roflmao:
Nope. Although earlier in his career he inherited an upper echelon veteran WR room.
He got
Greg Jennings #52
James Jones #78
Jermichael Finley #91
Jordy Nelson #36
Randall Cobb #64
Davante Adams #53

So while it’s true they weren’t drafted in Day 1. Several played at Day1 levels (Jennings, Nelson, Cobb, Adams)

Probably could’ve done a little more for Rodgers overall though. I’m about positive he had bottom 10 draft capital (receiver/TE) thrown into his path across his career. Possibly bottom 5 based on a draft points calculator.

Rodgers was spoiled. He did a good job of sharing the wealth.
