Would it be wise to send Rodgers to NFLE next season?

Now this question hinges on Brett returning next year. Let's assume Brett decides that he is returning, and lets the team know before the season ends...

Do you think it would be wise, then, to send Rodgers to play in the NFLE? Above all else, it'd get him some action in games that mean more than the pre-season and garbage time of blow-outs.

It'd get him some much needed experience, and give the Packers staff (and us fans) a much better idea of where Rodgers is in his development and how far he has to go still.

Good point... but then wouldn't that sort of be a wake-up call to Ted that he might need to start looking elsewhere (along with Ingle)?

there's..no need for it. its an unneeded risk. besides, let him stay in GB with the coaches, trainer, and let him be with favre, not in germany and learn from him, not some guy named Adolf.

I don't think you want your probable starting QB for 2008 going to NFLE instead.

Even if Favre wants to prolong his career, it still doesn't make sense. That would be a confidence shattering move. A guy who was touted as the overall number 1 pick as early as a few days before the draft gets shipped to Europa league ball? Not good.

He already has enough to fight against trying to remove the stigma of being a Jeff Tedford system QB.

That being said, I'd love to see him play. I was a huge fan of his, at Cal, and could only dream we'd be in position to take him.

He would not benefit from playing with the lesser competition the NFLE offers, you don't send your QB heir and 1st round pick there.

:hammer:

apart from that statement tromadz is right, the NFL E would be a huge step back and wouldn't make Rodgers a better player IMO

I agree with most of the others here. For QB's, NFLE is more for guys who are longshots to ever be starters. Because Rodgers could be asked to take over the Packer offense at any time, it's more important for him to be at the minicamps with all the other Packer players and prepare for the season as if he is going to be the starting QB
