This guy is like a "9/11 Truther". It's super easy to cherry pick little anomalies that fit your narrative while ignoring the other 99% of information that contradicts your position.

This thread is starting to spiral down the rabbit hole.

Cashin is just the Skip Bayless of this forum. Spew enough silliness, and somebody will pay attention. Plus, we have to remember it's another month until the draft.

Many people gravitate towards conspiracy theories because a) they're fun, and b) they give you someone to blame when things don't go as you think they should. Especially if that someone is someone you don't particularly care for.

We see it all the time in politics, and the "masterminds" are always someone who works for the other party. In sports, it's always someone working against your team. So if the Packers lose, it must be a conspiracy (but not when they win, of course).........:p

I clicked "other" because of a book I've been reading by Dan Moldea. Moldea is a well known investigative reporter. It is called "Interference -How Organized Crime Influences Professional Football". A lot of his research in the original version of the book dealt with racketeering and he demonstrates that it did indeed influence the NFL in the old days. Now, with legalized gambling in so many states he says the influence has shifted away from the gamblers. He now makes a strong case for those influential in illicit drugs influencing individual players to "throw" games via the compulsion of blackmail.

He also demonstrates fairly clearly how the NFL has kept buddy buddy with the Feds to keep the Feds out of NFL business as much as possible. It is a very good read, but get the newer updated version if you are going to read it.

WTF? Wasn't there a guy here about year ago that eventually got banned because he kept spewing this garbage? Has he created this new account pretending to be a Ex-Fins fan defecting to the Packers so he can post the exact same utterly ridiculous crap that the last guy did?

Can you just lock this garbage thread please.
Talking about conspiracy theories. Pot meet kettle. *****

Discussion and opinions on a wide variety of football related things are welcome here. As far as I can tell the poster was not banned for his opinion as much as for how he presented his opinion. Keep it civil and it can be an appropriate discussion. Although I will check with some other mods to see if this shouldn't properly be posted under "all other team discussions" or "Atrium".

This thread is the epitome of off-season threads....pointless and ridiculous yet three pages long (so far)

In "world football", fans have a term for the off-season; "silly season". It is that time of the year when the media and forums engage in all kinds of fun speculation simply because there isn't any real action going on. ;)
