Can't disagree wit ya weeds my man, especially because no major changes/ additions were made to the D. Hopefully they really did have a DL coaching problem that Covington will solve, Hobbs will produce more in a much better system, and that the rest of the CB guys play at least to their talent level.WILL the Packers make the playoffs? Certainly an "opinion" thread because none of us really know anything that is bankable and can only speculate. So....speculate I shall, with NO analytics or stats. Just ol' Weedsie being a nattering nabob.
Until they prove otherwise - I'm still puking a little in my mouth every time I look at last season's NFC North record of 1-5. Should have been 0-6 except for wazzizname's long fingernail field goal block against the Boors. All other circumstances of those games are moot. ...and last year's ice doesn't necessarily need to be skated on again this season.
HOWEVER ... 1-5 is 1-5. Therefore, until proven otherwise, I believe the Pack are not a bonafide playoff team. They'll bowl over the other also-rans on the schedule as they should but unless they WIN the NFC North, I don't see it. So ... let's get this rollin' in Detroit. I'd love to be wrong ... but I think after a slow start, even the Boors have a better shot of running the race out of the basement, and yeah, it'll be a 3 team race to basement in the North.
Defense wins championships most of the time, and the Packers' D is still a bit of an unknown.
