Well Seattle is Top Dog in the NFC. That game reminded me a little bit of Dallas and Green Bay earlier this year. Lots of Offensive firepower. Also goes to show that an Elite D will occasionally slip some. 38 points was a Season high allowed by the Rams. It’s also a reminder that the Venue does matter in close games.

So the Rams lost to Philly and Carolina similar to Green Bay and gave up 171 yards rushing to Seattle. LA also lost twice in OT to SF and now Seattle.

I wonder when the last time a team logged 581 Yards of Offense (Rams) and no Turnovers, but Lost?

The Rams gave up 34 Sunday to the Lions but still won. The Rams and Seahawks could still finish tied.

The Rams Offense continues to present problems. However as you pointed out, they have more recently displayed chinx in one’s armor.

They just got done playing the Lions and Seahawks, no easy opponents. I found it hard to believe but the Rams gave up three consecutive 2 point conversations. Of course, that lateral fumble was kind of bogus. I thought the refs blew the whistle.

That was weird play. It was literally on the Line by a few inches. I don’t even think the recovering player was aware of that. It reminded me of that Clay Mathews III fumble recovery where he tracked the ball and smashed into the guy trying to pick the ball up and got a FR

I saw it on replay. But if the refs blew the whistle when the pass hit the ground, players have to stop playing and it should not be reviewable. If the call on the field was incomplete a whistle would have had to be blown immediately. If it is a fumbled lateral, the players try to recover it. I am not partial to either side winning, but if I am the Rams, I feel like I just became the victim of Fail Mary 2.

I didn't see anyone try to say that the whistle had blown.

I did not either. But when I went on some You Tube analysis sites today giving the numerous explanations of rules it was claimed that a whistle had blown before Charbonet picked up the ball. If it did, I do not know exactly when. Players reacted as if the play was over when the ball hit the ground. There were no scrambles on either side and these are both well coached teams. Now if a whistle was not blown did a ref signal by the arms that it was incomplete.
No matter what, no one should have ruled it incomplete on the field without a whistle. And if they saw it incomplete it should have been calked immediately and definitively. Or just leave it alone.

It looks like detroit is the team we have to worry about. And that is a worry. It looks to me like if they win out and we lose one more, we are out. So go ARod today. Or we could just win our next two.

I don’t know if I can stomach trading for Parsons, then not even making the playoffs.

LaFleur would be on the hot seat, IMO.

Or we have to root for the Vikings and Bears to beat them.

Of course, if we make the playoffs, we make it without him now.

Normally a referee is in the play shortly after the whistle. Especially on a goal line play they are all grouped together. Normally you’ll even see the player pick the ball and toss it to the referee, yet he couldn’t find one. Why?
Because no referee is anywhere close to the ball after the player picks it up. That for me is a sign it’s a live play. That’s my take

I hope the Lions do not demoralized with nothing to play for and field a lame duck team for their match vs Bears.

I might hold a rare opinion. I’d actually prefer to replay the Bears at Soldier Field. Nothing is better than ending the Bears season in front of a home crowd. Their best road to a #2 seed is beating Detroit, who just lost to The Steelers a few minutes ago.

Week17 Pack Wins n eliminates Detroit
Week18 GB sweeps the Vikings away
Wildcard GB eliminates Chicago in front of their home crowd

Hope the Vikings can get them Thursday. That way we could sit our guys.

It would be difficult not to make the playoffs. If they wanted to intentionally miss the playoffs, they would have to lose out and get some outside "help."

Tyler Huntley just took over after Lamar Jackson went into the Lockerroom after suffering an injury (possibly back?)
Lamar is tentatively out of the game.

Whoop-tee-do.. another 7th seed most likely, for the 3rd year in the row. Hey, make the dance, see what happens… but it’s concerning there hasn’t been any improvement for a better playoff position.

Thankfully the NFL is greedy and added a 7th seed or we’d have 4 straight years of missing the playoffs

I share your frustration DAGIGZ, as I'm sure many do. It seems inevitable that the Packers will get the 7th seed, again, and most likely go 90 miles south for a "rubber game" with the Bears. I'm kinda looking forward to that.

The problem with playoff seeding is that each conference winner a) makes the playoffs, regardless of record and b) gets a home playoff game, regardless of record.

I understand how important conference play is to the NFL fan base, so doing away with this is probably not doable. But Carolina or Tampa Bay will make the playoffs with a record barely above .500. Maybe one way to change this is to award a playoff spot to all conference winners, but create the bracket from the teams' records. In this case, Carolina or Tampa Bay would get a payoff spot, but not a home game.

I missed that OS, thanks. Jackson has missed a number of games this season, and hasn't been effective when he does play. We all know he's a lot better than that and needs an extended period of time and rehab to get healthy. They still have Derrick Henry, a RB who can do a lot of damage. But without Jackson, the drink doesn't get stirred.

If I recall, Huntley is a solid if unspectacular backup, certainly not at Willis's level. I expect the Packers to end the season strong by beating the Ravens at home and the queens in Minny.

I like having divisions. And 3 other teams get in with their records. If you don't make that; imo you don't deserve to, even if you had a better record than a division winner. I like the rivalries and playing those teams twice. Sometimes you get lucky being in a bad division but that changes.
