Good stuff. I carry a simple P235 Sig. it’s only 7 shots but I stock hollow points and if I’m at a store I carry an extra clip to get me away/out of a bind.
My LCP II comes with a 6 round magazine, so that's 7 shots if I leave one in the pipe, but I got a 10 round extended mag that also serves as a grip extension, which I like because I have really big hands. Plus, wih a small caliber pistol, I like the extra firepower of 10+1. Although with golden saber ammunition, .380 is a very effective caliber at short range.

You can actually get a 32-round drum extension, but I can't imagine what someone would need with that; by the time you get halfway through that drum, if you haven't hit the guy you're shooting at he'll probably have finished you.

I thought we were talking about protecting a citizen. If said citizen is in the middle of a riot; there are other considerations. But like a hostage situation. I'm sure you're not saying saving the hostage is secondary to arresting the criminal.
According to the SC, it is. Again, it's not their job to save anyone. Period.

I get your perspective of wanting to beat Rodgers but tbh I’m going to love when I watch him do the belt in the highlight reel and says I still own you lol

If I wasn't sure that his ego won't let him back out.........
I almost think he'd "pull a hamstring" the week before and wouldn't show up.....
I honestly can say I'd be surprised if he didn't play though....... because I know he and his ego want to rub our faces in it one last time.....
Favre wanted to also.
Either way.....going to be epic. I'll be there. We'll chat 11/24/25 my dude.

It will be interesting to see how many games Rodgers plays this year before he gets hurt. I say he doesn't make it past game 5 without an injury.

That's the ultimate goal. But, by the SC's ruling, if something happens to that person, the police can't be sued because they didn't save them.
Yeah, I'm aware of that. That would make the job impossible.

It would have been justified if he was eliminated… but just cuz it was doesn’t make it right. I handled the situation. If I felt like there was nothing I could do I wouldn’t have chanced nothing.. it’s a last resort and will differ from person to person.
And anyone that does defend themselves will have a LONG legal battle. And the fact they had to take a life.. But my grandfather trained me who was a firearm instructor and I grew up shooting and around guns since I was 8. I have a 14 9 and 8 yr old that I train up.
Thanks Snoops. Obviously you have a lot of experience and training. As I think through whether I want a gun or not, your suggestion to get some training first is important. I'm sure I can learn how to use a gun - how the gun works, aiming and shooting, cleaning and on. The other part though, if and when to use a gun, is a separate matter and professional training is time well spent.

It just means you're a decent human being to have those reservations.
Just remember.....all tools can be weapons in the wrong hands.
When you own a firearm....you have a social contract to be responsible 24/7/365 with this power/tool.
Thanks CR. And I agree that there is a social contract that comes with owning a weapon that can take a life. I would need to be a lot more prepared to ensure I react rationally and not emotionally in deciding when and how two use a gun.

I'm just not there yet, and I may never be. So until that time I will respect the 2nd amendment, without participating in gun ownership.

Before FL became a Constitutional carry state, both my wife and I got our concealed carry licenses. I didn't carry for the first two years. Then one day at the gas station about 2 miles from my house, I heard what sounded like gunfire, but I thought, nah, can't be. Not in my little sleepy town. Finished pumping gas and went to the paint store. As I was leaving the station, I heard sirens. Didn't think much about it. Turns out a guy opened fire in a Pizza joint half a block away from me. I've carried it outside the house every time I go since. Tucked in my waistband, shirt covering it. Brought it with me the last time I drove to WI. Right through Chicago. Taught my kid how to shoot when she was 12. She is a better shot now than I am. Now that she turned 21 she wants to carry. I told her I would buy the gun of her choice the day she gets he carry license.
Amen brother!
People are like why expose children to guns and see them blah blah blah however kids have curiosity so if they ask I show. Same concept how a knife can be dangerous for cutting bread. My children know all about them. And to what you said stuff can happen anywhere or anything so it’s good. I can’t stand the anti gun people they are just simply un educated. It’s like more people get killed from vehicles and they would never take them away or protest. I dont think I have to explain myself to you raptor you get it lol

I’m bittersweet we have to play Rodgers I wish it was at lambeau. I know it’s unpopular opinion but Rodgers is my favorite player all timer. Minus him being arrogant lol

One of the other things we did with our kid was karate lessons. And in that field, we all went and all trained, all became black belts in Tang So Do. One of the diversions of that training was a chance interaction with a man named. Jeff Moldavan. An Actor, stuntman, and martial artist. He had a small self-defense business called TLM Self-Defense. One of the things he taught was gun and knife takeaways. So, over about 5 classes in a period of about 6 months, before he passed away, we learned how to disarm people who had weapons. So, not only does my kid know how to shoot, she can take your gun away from you if you are in arm's reach. It is a lot easier than people think. Oh, the gun will go off if the person's finger is on the trigger, but done properly, they will miss you, and you have a good chance of either breaking their trigger finger or, depending on the gun, ripping it off. With knife takeaways, you are going to get cut. Just accept it before you start.

This is something that many forget to consider. In Changing Laws.
Who obeys Laws? Law Obiding Citizens who are likely Sober or coherent or non violent.

Who doesn’t obey Laws? Ok I think you get the message. Career Criminals or someone with medication issues could absolutely positively care less about a firearm law.

Logical coherent people make Laws. They also expect everyone to follow the Law as if they were logical or compassionate towards the Rules of Law. Unfortunately that’s just not reality. Lawmakers and those of us citizens think if we change a Law that criminals will follow suit. Nothing can be further from the truth. Career criminals 100% don’t think like us normal folks and many have ZERO compassion or level of reason. Matter of fact? They use our Laws against us that’s why they are consistently breaking them. Make a Law and I’ll show you thousands of examples of how they not be ignored… they’ll be actively and purposefully used against Law abiding Citizens.

You’ve got to think like a criminal to catch a criminal. This is why Profiling is such an effective craft. Laws mostly only make it harder for Law abiding Citizens. Make the Penalty harsh, that’s one avenue to consider. Such as no parole no bail no time served etc. lengthy prison sentence for a known criminal in possession transporting weapons.

Many of today’s Torts are carried out by people who should’ve served 3X the sentencing prove been jailed and released multiple times. Meanwhile we have Marijuanna sellers doing Life Terms. Am I the only one who sees this stuff?

They don’t have a problem with DUI in Saudi Arabia. Go look at why. We have to agree to drastically change the Sentencing phase.

Using a gun in a situation where deadly force is involved is a far cry from shooting at targets. Until you live in that moment you don't know how you'll respond to the fight-or-flight situation in front of you. Thinking you can handle it is the sign of a foolish person. I saw a lot of them in Vietnam. Even a few in police work. It's not a situation where the average person will automatically react the way they should or could. Being afraid is not a sign of weakness, it's the real response people should have while being a hero is not.

In order tie all this together. The only way we will know if the Packers make Playoffs is if we stay alive. :whistling:
Maybe better Tree in the Forest question….
Did the Packers make the Playoffs if you’re not alive? Highly Debatable!

Great. I'm not going to those either.
What is deceiving is that the city is large. There were always very, very safe and good parts of Chicago where you could walk at any time with no fear. That skews the stats. But there are many that you simply do not visit. Like when I got off on the wrong exit in 1975 and I asked the 2 cop cars " Where am I? " The answer was " Where you should not be! " But big cities change. The big exit to the suburbs in the post WWII era gave Chicago a complete face-lift. And, in truth, it was not for the better.

I thought we talked about that... I doubt you're more than 20 minute's drive from me; I'm in Boyle, and we also own a 12-acre horse farm in Mercer that we'll be trying to sell in the next month or so.

Being able to react rationally is the key.

I was at a legal poker club in Lexington and won a $2000 pot where the loser and I got into a yelling match about what we thought of each other after the hand. (I hit 4 to da flush w A to his turned 2 pair)..... so I left the building with instructions for the dealer to bring my money out in the parking lot because I wanted to leave the situation before it escalated.... the gentleman followed me into the dark parking lot at 1:30 in the morning.

I was on the phone with my wife... I dropped my phone immediately a grabbed Mr Remington( my silent partner in all things...God Bless KY!!!) and chambered a round..... where he could hear it and see it!!!!
I never pointed the firearm at him, but put it against my shoulder in plain sight........and told him if he kept coming at me it was gonna be the last bad decision of his life.....

He can knock me down and I could crack my skull open....he could have a knife,
He could have his own hidden firearm..... a million bad things can happen if I allow this man to continue to walk up on me....

I never pointed my firearm at him or threatened any action with it except the promise I told him....
If I ever point it at a human.....I'm firing in 99% of those situations....

A firearm isn't to make you Johnny Hardballz......it's a last result to protect yourself...your family....and innocents.

I hope I never have to even "present" mine into a situation again. I yelled at the guy but....I know how it sounds....he started it... and I tried to de-escalate and leave.....then I protected myself vs. a drunk and very angry Gentleman who had...again...I know how it sounds but...he had "violence" in his eyes... simple as that...and I'm not risking it...I'm going home to my wife tonight.
I'm going to try really hard to not get injured or worse over a card game.
