Again — it’s not hindsight when everyone and their mother wanted JSN with that pick for us.

again that is also just false.

I personally had JSN as one of my favorites at that pick, but to pretend like there wasn’t any other that many thought would be smart and good fit is just false.

I’ve also learned a long time ago justifying a pick by popular opinion of fans is hilariously misguided…most don’t spend any time at all watching actual prospect film beyond highlight videos or just regurgitate narratives they read.

At our pick there were a couple CBs many had highly rated that would have been great fit, few other edges and also even safety Branch. BUT LVN was a consensus top 20 prospect and no scout was shocked he went early.

Obviously not literally everybody.

Fans are going to be upset when they really want to draft the TJ Watt’s of the world and the team drafts Kevin King and the guy they wanted goes on to be a star.

Just the way it is.

The "Thanksgiving Day Massacre". That game spoiled what would have been the only undefeated season of Lombardi's career.
But it still brought a championship season. And who knows? Had we somehow won that game the Packers likely clinch 1st place early instead of the final week. And maybe a little relaxation would have set in going into the postseason. Better to mmaintain the intensity.

Oh, thank you... for some reason, I thought he was 2022.

Now if only I could figure out who this guy with a guitar is... looks familiar, but I'm old.

Edit: oh, he's singing "7 Nation Army". So I guess he must be.... mmm... that guy, whatever his name is. :D

For the Packers, this game will hinge on their defense being able to stop Gibbs and Montgomery on the ground. However, they can't sell out to the run, because if they do, Goff will pick the secondary apart.

The Packer offense needs to get rolling early. Hopefully, Jacobs can play. If he can't, the workload will be on Wilson. I'd really like to see a repeat of what they did early against Vikings, quick offense, no huddle, grind it out drives.

Currently, the Packers are 9-12-1 against the Lions on Turkey Day. Let's get win #10 and make this and the following game against the Bears, statement games..."The Packers Own the NFC North!"
Halfway there. Very conceivable we could get a Bears Loss Friday and we’d be 1/2 game lead into 1st Place.
That and we play Chicago 2X so they certainly don’t want to start 1/2 game back. Even if we split games with them we’d be ahead.

The Packers “other” 3 games?
@ Denver
Vs Baltimore
@ Minnesota

The Bears “other” 3 games?

Vs Cleveland
@ 49ers
Vs Detroit

I’d call that very comparable remaining competition. Which means Chicago vs Philly is a pretty big game for North implications. A loss would take a lot of pressure off GB.

After watching the Ravens look mediocre tonight I believe we can beat them.

Who the **** is "JSN"?

I hate obscure acronyms. :roflmao:
It's funny. Prior to the Packers drafting Marquez Valdes-Scantling, I had never seen his name shortened. Now I am not saying it started here in this forum, but it started here in this forum. We all got sick of mistyping his whole name and shortened it to MVS. Now it seems like EVERYONE calls him that. Put "MVS" in a Google search and watch what happens.

Way to go Packer Forum!

Agree. I actually think that is the easiest game left on the Packers schedule.
Hard to say. The Ravens gave the game away with 5 turnovers against the Bengals yesterday. Doubtful they'll come close to repeating that debacle. Jackson is no doubt limited by injuries and isn't the running threat he normally posses.

What will the Vikings look like the last week of the season? If they don't improve their QB play, that could be the 'easiest' remaining game on the schedule even if it's on the road.

We have beaten the Lions twice.

We also have lost to the Browns and Panthers, both following solid wins.

I think it’s impossible to know what the Ravens will look like between now and Week 18 offensively. They might be playing for their playoff lives, Lamar and Henry might rush for 250 combined. Or they might get completely shut down.

I’ve given up trying to figure out what is going to happen on a week to week basis just because an upcoming opponent is currently trending up or down.

Just a really odd schedule this year, having to play our divisional opponents 5 out of the last 7 games. That said, after yesterday, I think the Packers run the table against The NFC North this season and end the season at 12-4-1.

It just maybe. And that is scary. The Ravens showed their ability last night but they insisted on shooting themselves in the foot. A fast, versatile QB, a game changing RB, 3 impactive TEs, and a you receiver. Yet, they throw this one away. I hope they do the same in GB.

Jackson has been pretty mediocre most of the season. I know he's not 100% but still.
Henry is still dangerous (and I worry about that with our issues at DT) but he's starting to taper off too it seems. He leads all RBs in fumbles and is down to 12th in yards per carry; guys like Dowdle and Gibbs who we've already faced have been significantly better this year IMO.

Just as it stands, that one *should* be a win I believe. The Vikings are bad. I'm really curious to see the Bears today against what (should be) one of their stronger opponents to date. At this point I'm most worried about Denver. We've had a lot of success against mediocre defenses, but 2/3 losses come against top-10 defenses by EPA (Browns 3, Eagles 8). In fact the only team we have beaten who has a better defensive EPA than us (12th) is Minnesota, and they're 11th. Denver is currently #4.

Kind of a fool's errand to make these sort of predictions but hey, it's fun anyhow, I'll say we sweep the north, beat the ravens, and lose a close one in Denver to finish out 12-4-1

Denver is good but they are not this great jaggarnaut that their record suggests. Everything has been close besides Dallas — they’re literally 3 bounces away from 6-5.

I’d call that game 50/50.

I wouldn’t venture a guess on it. Or Baltimore. Lamar is too good to continue to be bad. He’ll come around. Hopefully not in week 18.
