I didn't see the game yesterday. I'm guessing you did. Did Morgan start at LT and if so, how did he fare?

I think it's a lock that Walker won't be back next year. So the sooner Morgan can take the majority of snaps at LT, the better.

Anyway, you seem to be on top of what's happening. Just curious why you think Morgan will replace Walker at starting LT.

Thanks PN2025. Oh and that will be the starting OL, totally agree. There is more depth this year with either Morgan or Walker at LT, and at G with Belton. It's encouraging.
With Morgan and Rasheed it's all about the money. Rasheed will get a hefty payday next year on the open market. Since the Packers are already paying 3 starting O linemen big money, they really can't afford a 4th. If Morgan can play 3 years on the line on a rookie contract, that saves big money compared to somebody on their second contract. Morgan would have to be noticeably worse than Rasheed, not to get the job.

Hopper is in that Top 10 most improved platers imo.

Another player that I think many that claim to be “in the know” have completely discounted or even forgotten Brenton Cox Jr. I think he’s a guy that if given the opportunity is a high echelon rotational Defender. He continues to be a consistent disruptive force when he’s on the field and this has been a carry over from how he finished last season.
Last 7 games 2024 (missed the first 10 contests)
34% D snaps
7 QB hits
4 Sacks
5 TFL
12 Solo
0 missed Tackles

Saturday.
2 Solo
1 Sack
2 TFL
1 QB hit
Forced Fumble (turnover)

He gets my “Best Undrafted Packer” Award

It's not only about the money. Rasheed is worth something. We are lucky to have him right now. Unless Morgan is a much better blocker, I'd play Walker for now. I'm assuming Morgan can pass protect.

If you play Sheed at LT, where are you playing Morgan? You feel Gute is going to sit his first round pick another year? Morgan won the LT job in camp. LaFleur knows the score.

It's pretty clear at this point who are the best 5. They want their best 5 on the grass at 3:30 on September 7th.

There is a reason the job was not Sheed's going into camp. He was only serviceable last year. Just ok is not what we are looking for. The line got tossed around like rag dolls against high quality defenses last year. Unacceptable! Can not happen again. That is what the competition in camp was about. It's pretty cut and dry.

LT- Jordan Morgan
LG- Aaron Banks
C- Elgton Jenkins
RG- Sean Rhyan
RT- Zach Tom

I don't see how one can see it any other way. Sure hope Gute and LaFleur are not clueless, I don't think they are. We shall see.

I can live with Harlan, but Kuhn, bless his heart, is just not a good analyst. It is, on its best days, an average broadcast duo. The Packers or the network have a bad habit of recycling fan-favorite players.

Who did play by play and color years ago on the radio - I know Max McGee did color and I think Jim Irwin was pbp. Irwin was very good, and where he may have fallen short as an analyst, McGee was always fun to listen to.

Sorry, I'm mixing up radio and TV. Wayne Larrivee (sp?) is great and seems he wanted that job for a long time.
Yup. The Packers do recycle favorite players. A lot of teams do it. Kuhn isn't great but he's giving it his best shot, hoping he finally gets the formula right and makes it to the networks.

Actually, I didn't know that Morgan had beaten out Walker.

Yeah I think Heath gets the nod over Hardman. Heath is JAG as a WR, but he's a big guy and a good blocker on screens and crossing routes.
That's been my hunch all along; that if it comes down to one or the other, Hardman is out. Green Bay seems to really like Heath. They seem to keep giving him lots of chances, like they're trying to find reasons to keep him.

That said, he'll likely get waived when Watson is back. Depends on the health of the WRs.
Assuming nobody else has been injured yet at that point, yeah. Adding 2 WRs in the draft was kind of the death knell for Heath, unfortunately.

One thing I did glean is that Hopper, like I thought, is a player. Someday he and Cooper together in the game is going to be awesome.
I've been really high on Hopper right from Day One; I thought that was just an excellent pick. So many people were down on him last year and writing him off as a bust, but if you'd read the scouting reports on him, you'd understand that he was always going to be a 2-year project. But the talent and the skillset were always there.

I'm not down on Q and think he'll do very well this year.
I've never been a really big fan of Quay, but I have always hoped he'd be a great LB some day. He's never been a particularly smart player, but I respect his effort and how hard he's worked to make himself better.

But I agree that he is likely to have a very good year. He and Cooper complement each other very well, and each seems make the other better by freeing them up to play to their strengths. And I think Hafley is going to have a few ideas on how to get the most out of Walker this year; I expect our D-line to be much better, which will create opportunities for the linebackers.

Back in the day we had Ted Moore on WTMJ and Ray Scott for the TV. Broadcasting was there business.

Ray Scott was great. He ended up in Minnesota which was our loss. The guy was the voice of the Packers on TV back in the 50s & 60s. Loved his work. He didn't have a color man just gave us everything we needed as the only announcer in the booth. I hear tell that his wife actually helped him with stats at times. Not certain that's true but what I heard.

The network plugged in Tony Canadeo to be a " semi color man " for about a season. It was about that time ( Pre-Caleb Days ) that the Bears used Red Grange on TV with George Connor as a color man.

I agree with you on Hopper.

FWIW, I also believe the emergence of Cooper as a pass rusher will result in improved play from Q. Q is a very athletic guy and would do better by focusing more on his strengths, specifically, coverage for slant and screen passes, as well as setting an edge against the run game. He should be able to focus on these parts go his game, rather than getting after the QB.

I like this. Reading between the lines if you will in a logical hypothesis. In any case whoever makes it? it’s absolutely a battle at that 6th WR spot. We might even see one out of left field like Julian Hicks over the others. (My heart sais Sheppard but my brain says Mecole)
Adding 2 WRs in the draft was kind of the death knell for Heath, unfortunately.
It really was. It was a death trap for a bunch of guys battling at the bottom.
