I think Jordan is back this week if Malik struggles. Or just outright gonna play - he is a gunslinger no question about it!!
Yes. This is another thing about having a 25 year old VS a 40 yr old. When a 25 yr old gets hurt they bounce back in a couple 2 Weeks. When you similarly injure at 40, expect to miss 3-4 Weeks

At 25 yrs old, I used to bounce myself out of bed and land on both feet. Now some mornings I roll around searching for which angle hurts the least and I slide out of bed

Assume questionable (50/50) since it really does seem like a 50% chance he will play.
% apply differently with the Green Bay Packers. It is why our injury lists our longer than most of the league. Now in the Favre days it would be guaranteed he would play.

How many QB's do you have active in that situation? Do you use another one of Clifford's PS activations or risk going with just Malik and Jordan?

I think if Love is ready to play in relief mode, they would probably consider him ready to start. Plus, I wouldn't want to bring him in down 28-0. The Titan defense would know that he is pretty much passing 75% of the time and just bring the heat. A good way to get him reinjured.

As much as it pains me to say, because I am going to be there and would prefer to see Love playing, I think they give Jordan another week off.

That’s where I’m at.
I’m on the fence, but even if he’s cleared? All games are important, but a Non Conference “away” game grades lower on importance. Next week’s Vikings game is much more important. I’d rather give him the weekend off and ramp him up in practice next week.
I look at it like this.
1-2 and going in full strength at home with the Vikings? I’m totally ok with that. Potential outcomes:
1-3 is NOT unrecoverable. We could claw our way back to 5-5 or 6-6 or even 7-7 and very much relevant.
2-2 and beating the Vikings? Splendid
Lots of season left with a 1-0 Division record.

Another thought. There is a realistic chance that Malik and Company squeak out another Victory. Thats a very real possibility after watching our ground attack and short game. THAT would be really ideal because we’d be 2-1 and hosting the Vikings for the Division lead, but with a healthy Love

I might even go as far as saying that the Malik Willis Victory last week supplies my confidence in giving him that opportunity. This is career changing type stuff

I think if Malik plays, we see more on offense. He has had another week in the system, knows the Titans defense better than most and has that first start as a Packer under his belt. Yes, the Titans know his strengths and weaknesses as well, but he's playing in a new offense and they only have 1 reel of game film to watch him in a watered down version of it. I would still say "advantage Willis".

Like I said in another post, if there was a point in the season that Love had to miss 1-4 games, this was probably the best timing possible for it. Not to mention it is improving our #2 QB.

I also think we will see the defense improve over their improvement from Week 1 to Week 2. New system, a few new pieces, it is a work in progress.

What I haven't seen (and is the least likely option) is that the Packers go with both QBs. Hear this out before doubting it:

1. Green Bay has been rotating players at several positions so far this season (guard, LB, safety)
2. The Packers went into Week 2,according to a quote by Elgton Jenkins, with the same offensive game plan against Indianapolis, no matter who was going to be QB
3. We probably want to ease Jordan back into playing and limit the number of opportunities for re-injury

If we go into Week 3 with a similarly scaled back game plan, yet creative, like we did in Week 2 then either QB could executed it. It might really throw Tennessee for a loop if Willis starts the first drive and then before they know it Love is taking the snaps in the second drive.

Personally, I think if Jordan warms up in pregame and is ready to go, you start him. Just doing that may throw the Titans defensive plans a bit. I just don't think you want him sitting/standing around too long and then throw him in mid quarter.

The tricky part here, they will have to dress and activate all 3 QB's if the plan is to decide on Jordans availability right at game time. Not a terrible thing, but that is one less active player at other positions.

I'd really rather Love doesn't play this week. Have him in good shape and ready to go for the Vikings.
Amen and Amen

We can Win this game with Malik. Heck we just played Indy and that should’ve been a 2-3 score Win. This one will likely be much closer score wise, possibly even a coin flip. So be it

One thing I’ve noticed in reviewing some film.

Erik Stokes is playing really well. So far he’s regained his Rookie Level but more refined. He's made a beautiful recovery so hats off to him and the staff there.

As far as Xavier McKinney. Oh my gosh in watching some film review he looks amazing. I dare even say he moves ALOT like Charles Woodson, but without the elite speed. While he’s notably not as purely athletic as Woodson, his overall demeanor and natural instincts occasionally remind me of a poor man’s Woodson and that’s not a slight in him at all.
I think he can become a game changing Safety. Maybe needs a smidge more consistency to be Probowl level etc but he’s fun to watch.

Wyatt is SO much better than 1st year Wyatt. Oh my gosh he’s getting better every few games and secretly putting together a continuation of later last year. The only thing I’d say is 26 snaps isn’t enough and I’d like to see him in that 30-40 snaps range. Maybe they are ramping him up as the season goes idk, but he’s coming into his own like it’s college all over again.

So far Jacobs has been great

47 X 235 yards at 5.0 average/carry

Only thing we need is Jacobs to stop fumbling as he’s done that both games. He was lucky an OL jumped on his first fumble. We need to replace fumbles with TD’s though.

Also Josh has zero catches. All this talk about him being used in the passing game this Offseason and he literally has 0 targets. Thats another area I’d like to see him used some.

I don't think I'd like to see any "time splitting" at this point in the season either (i.e. play Love a quarter or something to "ease back in" or whatnot). If Love isn't totally healthy enough to play the full game, I'd hold him out still. And if it's really a 50-50 game-time decision and you're totally confident he'll be ready to go for the Vikings game either way...my thinking is that in that situation your worst case scenario now is going 1-1 with your backup. That's still a win for me I think.

Now if it were late in the season in an important game or playoffs or something and Love says he can't go a full game but he will give us a half or a drive or whatever he can...then sure. At that point I think you try and get him out there. But week three in a non-conference matchup? Gonna play it safe there.

I also think...I don't really have any way of knowing it, but the idea of having Love play in relief or if Willis struggles or something just feels riskier for a couple of reasons. Purely non-scientific, but even early in the season I think if Willis struggles and Love is put in he's going to feel like it's on him to save the day and perhaps take some risks that he shouldn't be taking just yet. And in the same way I'm sure the opponents on defense will be smelling blood in the water if they think he's less than 100% when he goes in.

So, yeah, idk. That's just kind of spitballing but my gut says you only play him if you're confident he's healthy enough to play the full game with no issues. If you're coming into the game sunday and think Love's only got a half or 3/4s of a game in the tank right now, sit him the whole time.

As far as Love goes, it all comes down to chance for re-injury. I don't know enough about ligament strains nor the specific level of Love's injury. If there is no elevated risk of re-injury, he plays. Even if there is slight loss of mobility, Love at 85% is still much better than Willis.

I think he plays.

Packers win 27-17. The defense and offense continues to improve each week.

I agree. If it truly is a game time decision then to me that is a no brainer decision. Sit him. Don't even dress him.

My counter to that is that the loss of mobility inherently escalates the chance of re-injury.

It will happen absolutely opposite of whatever I guess. That said, I just think this is a strategic advantage of not committing to our opponent who they should plan for. Any minimal % of distraction that is from planning for Willis might be the 1% that gets us a Win.
I just can’t imagine waiting on an injury like this to the last second and then sticking him out there. That in itself doesn’t sound like GB at all. We lean conservative on injuries with rare exceptions (Rodgers returning against the Bears at halftime etc)

Good point. Or if has to “favor” something it puts more stress on something else.
I was thinking that exact thing when watching film in practice. Jordan was hopping around good overall. Yet I could tell he was favoring his good leg a little. Possibly it’s just the brace putting its effect there. But either way it absolutely puts added stress on the good knee, like you said

Clifford has been elevated from PS, again, so Love will most likely sit. Titans D will be tougher to run against so hopefully we'll see more play-action passing for 5-10 yds + yac. Can't afford 3 & outs, so MLF needs to mix up calls.
