I know it freaks some out to read and hear the word "tracker" and "expert opinion" when it comes to Covid. However, this is a pretty good site and map for tracking just how different some states within the U.S. view the vaccine.

You could overlay obesity rates from 2019 directly over covid death rates in 2020-21 and they'd look almost identical. You can also look at states with good overall state health prior to Covid, see their high vax rates now, and see there hospitalization rates and case rates aren't all that different from prior to vax availability either.
Yet I can imagine that if some slick salesman on TV pedaled a shot that would shed 100+ lbs off people who got it, we would be seeing those shots flying off the shelves faster than My Pillows.

With all due respect, the threads have covid in the title, if people get uncomfortable with the topic, skip the thread. If a Mod is going to post Donald Trump like posts about a very serious topic, I think others that disagree are going to want to post a rebuttal.

Covid was the issue, not the off shoot of the thread. That's the problem. It's become an integral part of the game this year. It dominated three weeks of Rodgers discussions, and cost the Packers a game they could have won.
Those happen whether the topic is Aaron Rodgers, Antonio Brown, Refereeing, etc.
If the conversation makes you uncomfortable, why do you jump into it and try to belittle people over a pretty serious topic, in a thread about Covid no less? Are the facts making you uncomfortable? Then you just couldn't contain yourself from trying to play policeman, you had to inject your own opinion with a post.

Couldn't agree more, except it's an incendiary situation that ends up being fueled by just the mention of Covid as part of what happened. A simple, "He should have gotten vaccinated!," comment immediately turns into a disagreement, simply because it was stated.
Yup it is going to be around forever just like the flu although currently it is much more contagious and many times more deadly, that will likely change with variants and immunity. Nobody’s freedoms are being tromped on by this pandemic. Everyone is just as free as they were before. There have always been rules to enter a business establishment, worker safety, belonging to the military etc. Some new rules have been put in place which is to be expected given a worldwide health threat of this magnitude. certain tribes choose to ignore as they wrap themselves in patriotism and “respect for law” which seems ironic. The economy is perking along pretty darn well. Some (especially) small businesses have been hurt and in some cases destroyed others have flourished and even been created. That happens on s smaller scale for other reasons every day. Always has. Nobody owes their life or the lives of their loved ones to keep a business going. If people would start acting more rationally we would imo be further down the road to putting this behind us. I know I would be out there pumping a lot more money into the economic engine. I knew there were irrational people out there, I just didn’t know there were this many. I don’t hate people who won’t get vaccinated. I think a lot of them are idiots. Get it or don’t get it, I really don’t care but please stop your carping about the consequences of your action. Same with wearing a mask. I could care less if you wear one or don’t in places that they aren’t required. Just like I don’t care if you go barefoot or shirtless in the summer. But when you come into a store a restsurant or airplane where it’s required then I think you should comply… or don’t go in… your “freedom”. With the wealth technology and science at Americas disposal we could have handled this so much better. Stupid should be painful.
How do you know that this is the factual chain of events? The only way I can think of is that you believe what the experts have said about spread and contact tracing. Yet, apparently you do not believe what the experts say about vaccines and spreading.
I disagree when someone compares it to the seasonal flu. Covid does not have a season. It is year round. Now whether you agree with me that it spreads quicker, hospitalizes more, leads to more lingering effects, and kills more people can be up for debate. Calling Covid seasonal is in no way up for debate.
