The word is the Bears and Cutler were a few million apart. The Packers became concerned and offered to pay the difference so that Cutler could continue playing for Chicago.Contract is for seven years, $126 million with $54 million guaranteed.
THAT'S INSANE!!! Maybe I should be glad about having a GM like TT more often.
It was the right move. Jay Cutler is a tremendous talent even at this point in his career. Surround him with some better talent and coach him more aggressively and he could be a very effective quarterback. He just needs to lose the superman mindset that has infected a lot of quarterbacks of late.
Tremendous talent? LOL, that's what Denver said when they drafted him. Then they quickly realized he was nothing more than Jeff George Part II. Then Chicago was dumb enough to give up 2 1st rd draft picks for him. Jay has 8 years in this league, making the playoffs a total of 1 time, and only 2 of those years having a winning record. Tremendous talents do better than that.
7 years of Vi-Jay-Jay, sounds good to me!Looks like the bears signed Cutler to a long term contract. Thoughts?
Consider the Chicago teams he played on that's not surprising. He had what was once talked up as one of the worst O-lines in league history. Is he a tremendous physical talent, absolutely. Better coaching and he'll be very productive.
LOL, that was the Denver Broncos excuse... "He played on bad teams". When are people going to stop drinking the kool-aid and just admit he's a bust. He finally had a defense with Chicago and he still plays like a backup. The Bears just might be in the playoffs today if McCown had finished the season.

This means 7 more years of playoffs for us.
