As always 10 snap minimum to be here.....which of course our best cornerback Carrington Valentine only had two snaps so don't expect to see him....

ALSO this is the first week I think something shady is happening...Love was not 50s grade....nope not buying. Bears fans likely involved this week....also the grade on Morgan is DRUNK.....like blackout and woke up naked in a pool of someone two states to your West named Gladys whose husband is missing and she thinks you killed him to get her stamp collection.....

Best Offense:
Zach Tom - 74.3
Rasheed Walker - 72.1
Josh Jacobs 71.2
Mathew Golden - 67.1
Romeo Doubs - 65.8

Worst Offense:
Jordan Morgan - 34.8
Luke Musgrave - 42.3
John FitzPatrick - 46.0
Malik Heath - 50.6
Jordan Love - 53.5

Best Defense:
Micah Parsons - 92.6
Colby Wooden - 86.0
Isaiah McDuffie - 80.2 (guys he is our best all around off ball backer this year with Cooper playing strangely bad)
Xavier McKinney - 77.9
Javon Bullard - 73.0
(Karl Brooks worth mentioning breaking 70.8)

Worst Defense:
Barryn Sorrell - 40.0
Nate Hobbs - 47.9....no shocker his coverage grade was 42.1 - a grade which Carrington Valentine has only done worse than one time in HIS ENTIRE CAREER.
Edgerrin Cooper - 49.8
Keisean Nixon - 57.7
Quay Walker - 58.6

Are they using Cooper in a differant way this year. Is it the added LBS...something isnt right.

His tackling technique fell apart since last year...that isn't usage that is discpline....change in body make up or something....

Yeah, some of those are really suspect to me. I didn't think Love was playing elite ball but he was pretty good to my eye yesterday. Only had a few throws I had issue with. And I thought Morgan had a really nice outing overall. Similarly I would've argued this was one of Quays best games ever for us, that one really surprises me... and I can't figure out what is going on with Cooper

First of all, love the humor here.

Second, someone on Reddit had a screenshot of the grades with an final grade of 58.3. Did something change?

A second-b: I overall agree with the shot I saw: 83.9 pass block (elite) and 46.9 (below average) runblock. Which is why I'd rather not keep him at guard.

I don't know the reason but I too want to see better run blocking. I suspect our line coach is sub par. We haven't been as good since our off coord got promoted and he hired, I think, his friend.

I'm not sure about that, though I'm not really sure where the problem lies. My opinion seems to line up with the PFF grades--Tom and Walker were excellent, Banks bordering on excellent, Jenkins average, Morgan below average.

My initial thought is Morgan just isn't a guard and that maybe Jenkins has hit a wall. I will say I see more wall-off blocks from Jenkins, so it's possible that's by design, but if its not, he might have lost something.

And then if the tightends fail after a great down by the line, you can still get schmucked.

Have checked multiple times and have never seen that number with him.

I know nothing at all about fantasy football; how are these grades determined? Are they easy to manipulate?

This isn’t fantasy. PFF has graders that are said to isolate grade each player every snap. One issue is of course no two can interpret the plays the same…and assignments can only be assumed and isn’t actually known by the grader which is arguably the most valid critique of PFF grades.

I know at one time there were multiple graders and then reviews happen as well.

Who knows it all that still happens.

Nate Hobbs - 47.9....no shocker his coverage grade was 42.1 - a grade which Carrington Valentine has only done worse than one time in HIS ENTIRE CAREER.
Meanwhile, Eric Stokes is having the best year of his career...

I want to make clear that I think the title of this article may be overly critical; given the information Gutekunst had to work with at the time, there was every reason not to take a chance on Stokes.

But one thing I do think was a mistake was expecting Hobbs (a career nickel back) to become an outside CB. He's an excellent slot CB, but has never been a good perimeter player. Several of us were very vocal about it at the time, and every week makes us look more and more like Nostradamus. He's out of position.

Meanwhile, Valentine (a natural perimeter CB, who has shown steady improvement when given a chance), sits on the bench instead of out on the field developing as he should be. But Green Bay is making sure Javon Bullard is getting all the development he needs at the slot position, because the X Factor and Evan Williams have the safety spot fully staffed.

I know hindsight is 20-20, but more and more it's starting to look like that $18-27 million could have been better spent elsewhere and trusting Bullard to develop in the slot. The irony is, I think Valentine has the better upside, but he's not getting the development he needs (and has earned) because putting Hobbs where he belongs would cost Bullard the developmental snaps.

And where has the Hobbs been who had to be chewed out for repeatedly hitting his teammates too hard in camp?? Trey McBride made him look like Little Orphan Annie yesterday; if Hobbs had hit him half as hard as he hit Marshawn Lloyd, he might have stopped him instead of bouncing 3 yards.

While the Raiders are off to a poor start, having just lost to the Chiefs 31-0 in Week 7, Stokes is having a nice bounce-back season. He is in the midst of the best season of his career per Pro Football Focus, receiving a 66.4 defensive and 67.1 coverage grades. He has three pass breakups in six games and has allowed a 72.9 passer rating.

Interestingly enough, Hobbs arrived in Green Bay after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Raiders, essentially the mirror image of Stokes with the Packers. However, Hobbs is in the midst of the worst season of his career, receiving a 59.3 defensive and 54.0 coverage grades on PFF. He has only one pass breakup and is allowing a 127.1 passer rating in coverage.

If one heads to Reddit.com/r/greenbaypackers and looks for “grades” you should see the screenshot.

Not posting the direct link because of potential content ownership issues.
I’ve refreshed the actual pff grades and still nothing. My guess maybe wrong game or mistype

What about Brinson? I thought he had an excellent game, wreaking havoc on both the run defense and passing downs.

Someone on a podcast said that he graded out at 84.8. When I rewatched the game, there were many times I saw him completely stonewall the middle of the line of scrimmage on rushing downs; he only had 4 solo or assisted tackles, but there were many plays where he was just creating so much utter chaos in the center of the line, the RB tried to bounce off to the side only to get smothered by someone else.

On passing downs, Brinson was walking his man backwards into Brissets' face on numerous plays, and creating opportunities for the edge rushers to swarm the QB. At least 2 of Micah's sacks were partially precipitated by Brinson's explosive assault on the interior O-line. The O linemen had to double team him, so when Parsons came pouring in from the edge, he only had one man to beat, and Brisset had nowhere to escape because Brinson had helped destroy the interior pass protection.

This is the first game where he has gotten significant playing time, and I think he made a really strong showing. Tyni, I think you havesaid several times that you're really looking forward to seeing what Brinson has to offer - maybe we're starting to see that. What do you think? Are we starting to see it?

If you are right and I have no reason to think otherwise; then it is great to have him in the rotation. If we didn't have a couple of linemen down right now; he probably wouldn't get a real good chance to show what he could do during a game.

His reps now are priceless towards a late season push and playoffs. Very different if needed in playoffs and you’ve had some true in game reps of sizable nature vs that being first time.

In truth Sorrell is getting more reps due to LVN down too and could pay dividends
