Don't get overconfident. Remember, they already beat us earlier this year. Yes, I do think the Packers will win but it is really quite astonishing how little credit anyone gives the Bears here.

Im a packers fan and its amazing to me how little credit the packers fans have given the bears. They have won the game we have lost. Good teams find ways to win and they have done that. Were they lucky that megatron didnt hold onto the ball? Yeah. But you dont stay lucky the whole season. Give credit where credit is due

Can't play the NFC West unless they're a 5 seed, which is impossible seeing they're guaranteed a 3 at the worst.

The Bears are very good though. You need to play mistake free against them because they'll do the small things to win football games. I'd rather face the 06 team than this team because regardless of what one thinks of Jay Cutler, he can be deadly when on... moreso than Sexy Rexy. Combined with an opportunistic defense, and the Bears are a fine team.

    Love a Bears/Packers playoff match-up, though.

100% agree. I believe most people are just blind from hatred.

I believe if the bears get a #2 seed they could play the nfc west right?

In the last 5 games the Bears pass D had given up an average of 267 yards, 1.4 TDs and 1 Int per game. With a QB rating of 89.14. Don't sell them to short. Of course they may wear down at the end of the season, wait, those 5 games are at the end of the season. All I kept hearing from Packer fans the last 8 weeks is how the Bears are going to implode. Good thing I didn't hold my breath waiting for it.

If they beat the Packers a second time, are they still over rated?

I couldn't agree more. The Bears do deserve a lot of a credit for turning it around this year when no one gave them a chance. Like I said before, I do feel the Packers are the better team and I do think the Packers will win on Sunday but people need to give the Bears credit. I doubted them at first but after they beat the Eagles I began taking them seriously. After all, they are the only team to beat Vick.

That being said I don't think the Bears will win the Super Bowl simply because I think Cutler is bound to have a bunch if INTs in a game soon enough. Nonetheless, they have won the division and will likely get a first round bye. That's something the Packers can't say.

Yep, would you rather have Clay or Urlacher?
Dude is bald and done. Sorry, his best football has already been played.

Yup, but that'd be in the second round. JBlood mentioned first round in the post you referenced, and seeing as he doesn't think the Bears have a chance against the Packers, I thought he was referring to first round of the playoffs not the Bears first playoff game.

For all of you who discount "luck" as an important factor in the NFL, I refer you to

Advanced NFL Stats: The Randomness of Win-Loss Records

According to the research done at ANFLS, 42% of NFL results are due to randomness, or "luck", which is a direct result of the short season of 16 games. The longer the season, the more likely that a team's record actually represents its abilities, as in Major League Baseball.

By rating each team on its offensive passing and running; and its defense on defending the pass and the run, the site has a weekly table on a team's results vs what would actually be expected based on the 4 factors above.

    the graph after 13 games:

San Diego, therefore, is the unluckiest team by 3.9 more games lost than expected; and Atlanta is the luckiest by 5.41 games.

So, the Packers have lost 1.36 more games than expected and
the Bears have won 2.1 more games than expected.

So, if no randomness existed, the Packers would be 9 and 4, while the Bears would be 7 and 6.

    Therefore, the Bears are lucky.

If the Bears beat the Packers this week then yes I will believe they are a good team this year.

However hasn't anyone else noticed that we have more Vikings Trolls on this board right now than Bear trolls? Around my area none of these so called Bears fans believe they are a worthy team. You couldn't shut them up the year they lost the SB and even last year.

Since these so called fans don't believe, I don't know why anyone else should.

Bears dont win the division or what ever by luck alone

They were down on the JETS and crawled right back by missed tackles from the JETS and mis matches of Jason Taylor on Forte

and please stop using the 1st meeting as a gauge. Both teams are WAY WAY different now

Do I expect the Pack to win, sure do..

But not by 20 or more like some have said

LTF: "But not by 20 or more like some have said."

Who, except the most optimistic (unrealistic?) would have thought we'd beat the Giants by 28?

I think we're capable of handing the Bears the same whipping that the Pats gave them a couple of weeks ago, although I'd like to delay that until next week. Any kind of win this week will do.

I love how whatever happens the previous weekend can erase the history of your team's season. Some of you looking past the Bears like there's no chance we lose, conveniently forgetting the Detroit game. Ever since that game, I take no games lightly. No game is a slam dunk. I expect this to be a hard fought, physical slobberknocker. I expect it to be close. I don't expect to kill them, because they're good.

It all comes down to line play, and the Packer offensive line has played 2 solid games in a row. Maybe they realize they have to give maximum effort every week, but for whatever reason we seem to be peaking at the right time. If they play with the same toughness this week we'll win going away.

Ok if your going to get technical sure.

You have been pretty quiet about flynns trade value, I assume you changed your mind on that? You were pretty set on him being worthless...

Do you watch football? Urlacher is still a beast. Stop being such a homer, and be realistic. Check his stats. Is Hester garbage too?

No, I base all my posts on the setting of the stars. Do you think watching football entitles you to question my post?
I compared Clay to Urlacher. You tell me which you'd rather have. Maybe you know something I don't.
No matter which way you slice it, I'm saying the guy is past his prime, you don't like it? Wanna go kiss his donkey? Go for it, I'm stout on saying he's past his prime.
Maybe the little GM in your mind wants to trade for him. Your position here as a poster doesn't exactly give your resume salt to apply for a position with a real NFL team though does it? So in the meantime, I can have my opinion and it's every bit as valid as yours right? Unless you think Devin Hester is the second coming of Greg Jennings.
Do you watch Mythbusters too? Does that make you an expert on demolition? Go strap a rocket to your azz goof, see how far you fly.
Bears still and always suck, no props from me. Never, ever.

So if I'm reading it right, we're 0-3 against teams with a luck rating of -1.64 or better.

    Bears are -2.11

... I have a hard time swallowing that the Falcons should be 5-8 or 6-7, though.

    LOL @ you.

clay and urlacher? Different position smart one.

You give packer fans a bad name for being so uneducated. Urlacher has had a great year, go look at the numbers, and watch some games to see his impact.

2nd coming of jennings? does jennings return punts or kicks? Didnt think so.

washed up players arent ranked 7th in solo tackles. :rotfl:

I have always liked your posts, but I cant agree with those luck stats.

To quote ray lewis "Big time players, make big time plays, in big time games." Its not luck in my eyes when it happens over and over.

I know they both play LB, but they're two completely different players. Matthews is mostly a pass rushing OLB specialist while Urlacher is the heart in the Bears defense at MLB. Urlacher has more experience too and that defense would plummet without his leadership.

Flynn definitely shocked me, even if the Pats passing D is ranked 31st. His trade value certainly went up, but I'd still be surprised if we got more than a third from him. I'd expect most GMs would salivate over the QB prospects in the first two rounds of a draft (Luck, Mallet, Newton, etc.) over Flynn.

Different positions? You mean they aren't both linebackers? Oh, one plays outside and one inside, so they are not both linebackers. I guess if I watched more football right?
I have never given Packers fans a bad name, it's posters like you who give PEOPLE a bad name. You think you can watch TV and look at stats on the computer and tell others how to feel. Like I said, does watching "Sarah Palin's Alaska" make you an expert on the state? Maybe wearing a plug, which you seem to have going on.
When was the last time you read a book genius? It might help you to read between the lines. I compared Urlacher to Clay and Jennings to Hester notwithstanding their respective positions on each team.
If you wanna be a homer for the freaking Bares, go do that, I talk about the Packers dominance, I don't suck Bear balls dude.

Let me help you understand. Its like comparing AJ Hawk and Clay Matthews. One has more tackles, does that make him a better player? Of course not. You get all that?

Last time I read a book? You keep bringing up all these TV shows so I am sort of wondering when the last time you have? Sounds like you have a great life watching all these shows. Unemployed or retired?

I am a packer fan so I cant be a homer for the bears genius. I just give respect where respect is due. Urlacher has had a possible HOF career and has put up another stellar year. If you care to disagree put up some stats or something of substance, otherwise STFU.

While you must always support your team, you must also always give credit where credit is due. And the Bears deserve credit for their 11 wins.
