Yea I would guess it would be more than just a 1st... like a 1st and 3rd

and we might get Sherman and a LATE pick (6th maybe) back

Davante Adams and the 29th pick for Richard Sherman and Seattle's third round pick. That's a fair trade that fills needs for both teams.

If it's true, as Schefter is reporting, that Sherman is the one who actually asked Seattle to trade him and THEN talked all that crap about how the trade rumors make him laugh and they won't know what they had till he's gone... that would make him an even bigger tool than he already is.

This is why GM's and coaches decide things and not us fans. ;) I have a feeling if either Capers or MM are saying "Hell No, we don't want that on the field or in the locker room", TT hasn't even given Sherman a thought.

I don't believe the Seahawks consider Hundley or Spriggs a good enough player to include in a trade for Sherman.
Ironically, Vice versa, Im not so sure TT is enthused about Sherman coming to GB because it's not in Teds DNA to overpay for a guy with some question marks (e.g AP) Then to trade Hundley who so far has been of such high character and a quick study. That trade doesn't make sense to me regardless of how us fans feel about bringing in Sherman (although I wouldn't be surprised to see us make a trade for Hundley in the future once he gets a few more stripes.
Not to mention also letting another Offensive Lineman walk after trading up for him dearly?

Guessing any player involved (one that Seattle values) would leave a hole in the Packer roster, whether its a starter or a backup.

Unfortunately that's true and should make Packers fans worried about what happens once injuries strike again next season.

NE has no 1st or 2nd round pick to trade. Dallas is capped out. Atlanta is capped out. Arizona is a division rival. Steelers are supposedly interested in Revis.

Carolina and Oakland and GB look like the only real suitors who check all the boxes for Richard Sherman.

Dallas will add another $14 million in cap room once they officially release Romo though.

It doesn't eliminate Davante Adams.

The Packers trading Adams would open up a huge hole at outside receiver which would have to be addressed immediately.

Out of the clear blue western skies...
TT did not pull the trigger on any of the FA CBs that had been available to start free-agency. The net cost in both salaries and impact on the compensatory draft for next year would have been markedly less-than trading for Sherman now. Trading a starter and a 1st rounder (or more) for a 29 y/o CB seems so unlikely for cap and draft pick conscious TT. Maybe leopards actually can change their spots. Maybe not.

To be fair to Sherman he has never been arrested or in trouble with the law. He is huge in the community and does things there. He has never been accused of not playing hard and played hurt all last season. He is super competitive and wants to win. I don't think the guy even drinks.

Not sure why the Packers wouldn't "want him on the field".

We can throw these other bums we have on the field but not Richard Sherman?

When almost every bit of NFL news is spun into somehow being an indictment of TT, it makes it really hard to take that point of view seriously.

Here are some odds that some might find interesting in regards to trading for Sherman. We're actually on the list.

The Richard Sherman trade is about to explode and a new NFL team is the clear favorite: https://t.co/C3Rwpzf0CB

While Richard Sherman isn't known as a wife beater, a child whipper or a man who has punched a woman in a restaurant, it is hard to deny that both his personality and his style of play can be polarizing amongst his coaches, teammates and Seahawk fans. I don't really question his abilities at all and think he would be a vast improvement for the Packers at the CB position. However, if the Packers are even considering trading for a player like Sherman, they need to look at and weigh the entire package that Sherman would bring to the Packers and their fans.

I think him helping bringing another "Lombardi" back to Green Bay would keep everyone quite happy. ;)

TT could right a lot of wrongs here.

No, it shows what a proven no.1 corner is worth and there value. What TT thinks and what the reality is are two different things.
Atlanta's and Washington's reality of guaranteeing 60-70 % is most definitely not Thompson's reality. His reality is around 30%.

Well in Clay Matthews case it wouldn't matter if it was 10 percent. Thompson still pays the damn overpaid contract so what difference does it make?

My point in regards to the Trufant extension is that unless you have a premier corner on a rookie contract which we don't then that's what a no.1 type corner costs. Going out and shopping at the Goodwill for Devon House doesn't cut it.

Better go back and check and see if Atlanta and Washington ever overpays contracts. I think everyone knows the answer to that.

About House. We shall see how he fares compared to how Gilmore, Bouye and big contract guys do.

Well there 23 million under the cap so you will be able to get excited about Goodwill shopping next year too after we get ran off the field in the playoffs again.

I would beg to differ on the "never arrested" part.

Im in agreement with you on the point we need a top CB. I disagree that we should step over some moral or ethical boundary to acquire said player.
You've heard It said not to put all your eggs in one basket. I think eggs = $$$
and the basket = Sherman.
IMO We can win a Championship without changing our business model. We've already got our fair share of player distractions, we don't need a Richard Sherman, a Beckingham or a Desean Jackson to stir up the lockerroom.
I'd rather find another Reggie, a Julius or Donald Driver.

I have to retract part of my previous post about Sherman being arrested. I looked into the article that I posted (I have since removed) and it turned out to be fake. Shouldn't believe everything I read. My aplogies.

Still does't change much IMO, the Packers would still have to think long and hard about Sherman's personality and if it would be a good fit in Green Bay.

While I can see the points made by some here about distractions, I also think it can be overdone.
Are we trying to be a nice, pleasant boys club of some sort , or win championships?

Well said. From what I can tell about the guy, I don't like him. However, that's a minor and ancillary point. The main one, for me, is that I think he will have the price tag (in terms of trade value) of an elite corner and I don't believe he is an elite corner in our defense.
