You can pick teams from any era in pro football, baseball, basketball and hockey, as well as college basketball, and pit them against one another in a simulated game that takes just a few seconds to decide.
It even spits out a full box score and game accounts so you can see how your favorite players would have performed.
I had fun at first matching up random teams. Sports Editor Randy Ruef — a Green Bay Packers fan — got a kick out of pitting the Super Bowl champion 1996 Packers against the 1998 Vikings, sports writer Matt Trowbridge’s favorite team, and seeing the Packers club the Vikings seven times in a row,
three times holding the highest-scoring team in NFL history to 3 or fewer points.
Bears fans shouldn’t laugh, though. The program had the ’96 Packers beating the ’85 Bears four times in row before it finally spit out a Bears win.
