Playing football, baseball on company time

I am a baseball nut and I love history so finding http://www.whatifsports.com was like being given the key to the office concession machine.

You can pick teams from any era in pro football, baseball, basketball and hockey, as well as college basketball, and pit them against one another in a simulated game that takes just a few seconds to decide.

It even spits out a full box score and game accounts so you can see how your favorite players would have performed.

I had fun at first matching up random teams. Sports Editor Randy Ruef — a Green Bay Packers fan — got a kick out of pitting the Super Bowl champion 1996 Packers against the 1998 Vikings, sports writer Matt Trowbridge’s favorite team, and seeing the Packers club the Vikings seven times in a row, three times holding the highest-scoring team in NFL history to 3 or fewer points.
Bears fans shouldn’t laugh, though. The program had the ’96 Packers beating the ’85 Bears four times in row before it finally spit out a Bears win.
