So why are the Seahawks happy to trade a perennial all pro cornerback for a wideout on a bad contract and Corey Linsley?
Sherman and Pete Carroll don't get along. Sherman has publicly criticized Carroll. Seattle is desperate for o line help and Lindsey is young and an above average if not borderline pro bowl center. Seattle also needs more weapons and Cobb is also still young. He showed in the NY game that he can still be a dangerous slot receiver. Another reason is this years draft is deep in cb's. Seattle could spend their first round pick on a cb.

Barclay may be able to be a backup center but he has shown he can't play guard or tackle anymore.

Barclay has been awful since returning from his ACL injury and I'm absolutely fine with letting him walk away this offseason. He played pretty well in the NFCCG after replacing Taylor early at left guard though.

It's highly unlikely the Seahawks will even think about trading Sherman.

Well they seem to be succeeding just fine regardless of any differences they're supposed to have.

The Hawks' OL is horrible, but center is the one spot where they're set. Britt bombed at tackle and guard, but he's found a home as a good center. If they made a move for help up front, it won't be at the pivot.

With Baldwin, Lockett, Richardson, and Kearse in house they really don't need receiver help. And they certainly don't need someone in the style of Cobb. And lastly, who is going to look at what Cobb is doing with Rodgers and think he'd be a good player to trade for?

Most NFL coaches have huge egos. I think Pete Carroll would get on Schneider to trade Sherman to get him out of the locker room if the right deal comes along. Sherman is still pissed about Carroll making the most idiotic play call in SB history that cost Seattle a SB championship. Sherman is such a high octane competitor that he can't get over it and now he's become a sore point. Seattle may also trade Sherman because the draft is deep in cb talent this year. They could likely land a talented cb in round one of the draft.

No way in hell Seattle is gonna trade Richard Sherman to Green Bay.

Also, he wouldnt be the ideal fit for what Capers asks of his corners.

Yup, the 'keep the other guys from catching the ball and hit them when they do' just isn't the Packer way right now. :)
