from what I got from your initial response to my post was that no matter what circumstance we were in we would have lost?

Yes, they would have lost. Atlanta was the better team, and on a roll.
When looking at the game going in, out of all possible outcomes, we ended up with 'worst case scenario'. But even without that being the case, they would have won.

Welp. You saw the difference on full display last night smh. Packers go into the locker room at halftime down 24-0 , and precedes to get whooped 44-21 giving up 20 more points in the second half.. and allowing first down after first down.

The Patriots go into halftime down 21-3 but come out in the second half and hold ATL to 7 points in the second half. The leagues most explosive offense...all while controlling the clock in the process. Julio Jones had a career day against the single coverage that Capers continued to allow on the leagues best Wr while BB and Staff bracketed JJ who made some tough catches but had a quiet night nonetheless. Tom Brady was off rythem the first half so what did Mcdaniels and BB do? Oh they just threw more short timing routes and dunked and dunked their way down the field while keeping Ryan on the sidelines and resting the defense. MM and Co. still called long developing crossing and deep routes getting Rodgers absolutely plastered on a couple. We couldn't get to Ryan with a four man rush and neither could NE in the first half..so what MT and BB did was use delayed blitzes from the backers and took some of the fatties of the field and were willing to give up some running yards vs getting picked apart..much like we did. It all worked out in the end for the Patsies. Meanwhile we are still stuck with a staff who can't adjust in game to save their lives. We are not the Patriots of the NFC. We are just the Packers who manage to make the playoffs and get beat.

The problem in the NFC Championship Game is that Capers kept playing man coverage because of his ego. He thinks he's defense, even is it is getting torched, will somehow wake-up and shut down the other team. If you recall, the Pack were in a similar situation in 2014 (I believe) against the same Falcons. We went up 31-7 at half-time then Matt Ryan threw it to Julio Jones who was in a single man coverage and proceeded to have a 259 yards game and brought the Falcons back. We barely won 43-37.

The problem is that Capers defense has not been good since we won the Super Bowl, and yet is still hanging on to that. He's still playing as if Clay Matthews was six years younger, Charles Woodson is still quarterbacking the secondary, etc. Capers is incapable of making halftime adjustments, which is what happened in the NFC Championship Game. On the offensive side of the ball, Green Bay did score three second half touchdowns, so to say the changes made on offense did not work is undermining what they did, but in the grand picture Mike McCarthy did not put Rodgers in the best situations. However, when you lose your wide receiver converted running back early in the game, you become one-dimensional and it is much easier to make adjustments for the opposing defense. Also NE plays year round with those **** and dunks, and option routes, GB needs to add some to the playbook and get players like Deion Lewis, James White, Darren Sproles, Danny Woodhead (FA) who can move the chains, catch the ball, run, and be matchup nightmare.

Watch the Atlanta's first possession again. Capers tried it all: man, zone, blitzing, not blitzing.

None of it worked.

I don't understand why fans continue to think coordinators can do magic and scheme to overcome a giant talent gap.

What adjustments should he have made?

Whatever you think of Capers, I've come to the conclusion that Ted isn't giving him the players needed to field an effective defense. That's the root of the problem IMO.

And as much as I hate to admit it, Belichick is a coach on the level of a Lombardi. So yeah, there's a gap there.

Capers tried various different schemes during the NFCCG but none of it worked because the Packers lacked talent at cornerback. There's no way a defensive coordinator is able to come up with a decent game plan if your CBs can't stay within five yards of opposing receivers for at least two seconds.

And NE had how many starters on the Def that were starters since day one.? There's a difference between talent and non talent..

I wish the people would understand it appears he isn't going anywhere.

It is horrible the Def sucked I wish it was a top ten, we prob have a trophy again or 2..

Go picket 1265 and demand a new DC.. Because that will get you the same results.

Every day it seems a new thread opens up on with new take on Capers, he is here.. Please stop making new threads on why he sucks.
