If you believe PFF he was actually one of the better cbs in the NFL last season. He didn't seem to be at that level against the Packers. He would be a fine signing though. It would definitely be a one year deal at a pretty low salary. He is better than what we had last season

I don't want the Packers to rely on a 39 year old cornerback to improve the position.

But he would improve the position unless he falls off dramatically over this off season. He doesn't have to be great to help this team.

It's possible his performance signifiantly regresses at any point now though.

Sure and it possible it holds steady which would be a huge upgrade. It isn't like signing Newman should hinder us from signing another player or drafting a young cb early
I don't love the idea of signing him but he does help. After not getting bouye or Gilmore the cb market was really unimpressive to me

Plus, we want the guy on the Vikings. He blew up Zimmer's gameplan in the 2nd game against us and it was just delicious.

He tweeted he was signing with a contender and then went back to the vikings who missed the playoffs. I guess they are a contender but it seems a little misleading
