I don't think it's a big deal we have a late start in looking for a ST coach. Maybe it'll be a good thing. I think we need a guy that loves, lives and breathes Special Teams. I believe there are those types out there.

There's a million possibilities. Maybe something in Rich's personal life necessitated retiring, such as his health or a family member's. Maybe he finally decided to retire. If I had a couple million in the bank, I would absolutely step down and do a lot of my hobbies and volunteering. Who needs the grind?

There are a lot of reasons that this might have happened.

It makes you wonder though, was he asked to resign? Since he's good buddies with MLF, maybe MLF wanted to keep him but Bisaccia decided to resign because he didn't want to be a drain on LaFleur's reputation? Or maybe he actually wanted out for reasons of his own? Maybe he didn't think the Packers were giving him enough to do his job effectively?

Finally, I wonder if it might have looked better for MLF's ****** if he had gone ahead and released him himself? If Bisaccia had to take it upon himself to move on, I'm not sure that fills me with confidence in regard to MLF's leadership.
I think it was all the pressure from this Packer Forum that forced his resignation. :coffee: :whistling:

You forgot to include: "He wasn't doing good at his job" as one of the reasons. ;)

Fully agree. It felt like the Packers hired Bisaccia in 2022 to fix the special teams issues that had been glaring for too many seasons. Honestly, when he first arrived, it seemed like he was doing a good job at doing just that. Then MLF for some reason in 2023 decides to give Rich another title/job responsibility as the assistant HC. Maybe it was the only way to keep Rich happy and in Green Bay, but from that point on, Special Teams headed back down the toilet.

I agree with you on the need to hire a coach that has the fire and the desire to just blow everyone away with what his/her special teams are doing on the field. It is a big job and should be their ONLY job. Green Bay needs to stop with all the dual roles and titles. Give coaches 1 job and hold them accountable to do it well, that includes MLF.

Personally, I don't buy into the "Packers don't draft and develop good special teams players." I think it is more of a "Packers head coaches haven't put enough emphasis on the importance of special teams."

Should be fired from ST responsibilities or Assistant Head Coach responsibilities. He has both titles and one MINIMUM needs removed asap from him.
He’s gone so I guess this doesn’t matter, but what were his duties as assistant HC? That sounded like padding to justify his salary.

I still can’t name one thing he did as AHC. If it was clock mgmt, he failed.

I think he got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. The kicking game was inconsistent, there weren’t any good returners, well except Nixon. He just didn’t have the players.
