Billy Howton, a former Green Bay Packers star regarded as one of the most productive wide receivers of the pre-Super Bowl era who was a founder and the first president of the NFL Players Association, has died. He was 95.

I've read a lot about Billy Howton over the years but never saw him play that I recall. Looking at his stats - you'd think he'd have more rep but when you're the best player on a team that stinks - you know where I'm going with that. I was like, 6 months old when Lombardi traded him to Cleveland for Quinlan and "some guy".

When you look at how many players we got from Cleveland back then you almost have to thank Paul Brown too.
