I agree Zombie. It was a good move. However, I was a little pissed about that because all he needed was 44 more yards and he has a 200 yard game.

Come to think of it, did Ahman Green ever break 200 yards?
If not, we never had a 200 yard rusher.

IMHO Ryan will be a replacement for someone who is voted in and declines the invite.

This happens every year, I bet he will be one of the first guys asked if a replacement is needed, if he continues to impress the rest of the year.

Ryan Grant isn't a rookie, he was 1 year on the Giants PS.

I am aware of this. I simply was pointing out how he stacks up against other GB RBs in their 1st season.

Yup! Back in the "old days", when it was a 14 game season, 1000 yards meant something. Now, with 16 games, to me at least, it has lost it's luster.

Same thing with 4000 yards passing. Now with 16 games, everyone and their Grandma has passed for 4k yards. Before, it was very rare.

if you are on the practice squad and never really suit up in a game i think you are still concidered a rookie

Grant is considered a 1st year player not a rookie. Not much of a difference but the NFL does distinguish.

In logical terms, you are a rookie, but in practical terms, you can't win rookie of the year so it just depends on how you look at it. Baseball has it right, if you don't get like 100 at bats as a position player your rookie year transfers to the next year. In baseball though it takes like 2-3 years to really develop into a player whereas in the NFL you can make an immediate impact
