Duds:

Love: dumb INT, took too many sacks, overthrew receivers. Let's hope he got it all out of his system.

O-line. Patchwork, I understand, but it was pretty ugly.

MLF: game plan not well thought out. Several questionable play calls. Not having the team ready to play in a hostile environment.

Penalties: over and over, the Packers shot themselves in the foot.

The Refs: some questionable calls (Nixon interference?) and a bunch of missed calls. I still see Parsons being held on nearly every down and it simply doesn't get called.

Studs:

The defense. Apart from a couple of big running plays at the end the Browns were held in check. Would have been better to notch a few more sacks.

I really hope this was a one-off. That was some ugly football.

Dud: coaching.

We had more penalties than we had drives.

That speaks to me as exceptionally poor discipline. It’s obviously not a problem. 50 years ago the NFL record was 35 flags in 1 game. 1 team had 20 flags the other team had 15 flags. We were trying to beat the NFL record!

14 Penalties!

FOURTEEN?? We didn't get the game but if you screw up that many times and turn it over late on your side of the 40 you deserve to lose.

Duds: Morgan, play calling by LaFleur,
Studs: Golden,
Not many stood out to me one way or the other. Seems like we should be able to take more advantage of Parsons being double and triple teamed. Maybe it would be better to play 3 D linemen and let Parsons rush from where he wants to on obvious passing downs.

Duds: Bisaccia, Lafleur!!! If it's not a penalty on special teams, it's a blocked kick, missed tackle, long return!
Lafleur, if the oline is struggling to protect Love, put in an extra olineman, like other teams do!!! How can teams that consistently change QBs year after year still compete, and, demolish crappy teams??? WE have had Love starting for 2+ years, yet every game is a struggle, even against bad teams, he seems to read defenses poorly still!!! Teach him to slide past the 1st down marker too!!!! Special teams...good for 59 minutes, suck at end of game!!!

StUds Defense!!!! Great game, despite poor coaching!!!

Studs:
Rashan Gary - feasting while Micah is being held by two guys on the other side.
Matthew Golden (honorable mention) - 4 catches on 4 targets for 52, leading the team. Glad to see his role increasing, including in the run game. Although the stumble out of bounds in the 4th might have been a 96 yard TD.

Duds:
Coaching - the number of procedural penalties, even for such a young team, is unacceptable
Love - hard to believe he was 18/25 with how many easy throws he missed. Mostly though, that pick looked like he had made up his mind where he was going before the snap. And it's the single biggest reason we lost. Cannot do that in a 4 minute drill.
Injuries - I hated the early bye when the schedule came out; at this point, it can't come soon enough

LaFleur not putting a QB in the starting lineup who can get this **** show to the line and run a play before the clock runs out. I'm SICK of this! Every time I see it LaFleur Stenovich and Love are all expected to spring a lap outside Lambeau for every one of these wasted time outs caused by Love's leadership ********.

Luke Butkus: I get it...he's from the Bears i.e. a lower pedigree of football family than the Packers but Jesus H Christ it should've been fixed AT HALFTIME! Every time love gets sacked, Jordan Morgan false starts or a 300 pounder ends up downfield on a screen Butkus is gonna run with LaFleur and Co.

Gutey for drafting Jordan Morgan. He doesn't know blocking schemes, doesn't know the snap count, he's slow...everything a linemen shouldn't be.

Everybody else in the organization for doing SOMETHING wrong during this game

I've wondered about Butkus for awhile now.

Studs:

I will give credit where due. Matthew Golden had his best game so far.
4/4 52 yards 13.0 per

Quay Walker
14 Tackles 1 PD 1 QB hit

Rashan Gary
2 Sacks 2 TFL 3 QB hits

Jeff Hafley.
10 points allowed! I don’t count our Offense spotting the ball at the GB4 as 7pts, that’s 4 points allowed it’s an automatic FG.

How folks cannot see that Gary had a great game is beyond me. Doesn’t change the amount of pure dog **** the game was collectively but still….

Gary, Golden and Wicks all were awesome.
The defense was lights out today. Holding them to 3 before the offense shat the bed kept us in it.

Didn't watch the game, was traveling, which is probably a good thing. Hopefully this game was a wakeup call. If they lose to Dallas next week, then I'll be more concerned.

An Interception and a blocked FG in the last 3 minutes of the game, are the two plays that really kept the team from winning. An incomplete pass and you punt the ball, making Cleveland need to go the length of the field and score a TD to tie, but instead they get a 4 yd drive. Then McManus, who has missed 2 total kicks since last October, has a gimme FG blocked, you couldn't draw up any more misfortune than that.

Now, from what I'm reading on this thread, as bad as the offense played (10 pts) they held the Browns scoreless until under 4 minutes left in the game. If you count the 2 plays I mentioned above as duds 1 and 2 of the game, having 14 penalties would have to be #3, you just can't continue to shoot yourself in the foot with mental errors, and expect to win.

As for Studs, I think it's funny when people say there are no studs when the defense shuts out a team for 56 minutes, and forced a FG on a 1st and goal from the 1 yd line. Just because we lost, that doesn't mean there were guys who didn't play well. Also, you can't blame tge defense for giving up a TD after the interception that gave the Browns the ball on the 4 yd line.

Now just going but the stats, as I didn't watch the game:

1. Rashan Gary, 2 sacks, now 4.5 on the season, and probably the biggest beneficiary of Parsons on the field.

2. Quay Walker, 14 tackles, no other player has more than 6.

3. I'm going to give it to an offensive guy, Matthew Golden, 4 catches on 4 targets, 52 yds. After only having 2 catches total the 1st 2 weeks, it was a must to get him involved in the offense more, and overall, it looks like he made the most of those opportunities.

This is comical, I just posted mine, and you must have posted yours while I was typing mine out. Great minds :coffee:

When our Offense can’t score more than 15 points your probability of winning drops pretty dramatically.

In other new Tampa Bay BARELY won over the Winless Jets. Nearly a similar outcome.

The 63 yd drive ended in a FG, this defense played great today.
