The Packers D made maybe its best and most critical play of the season On 4th down. Caleb went left and due to the Packers pursuit he admitted he did not think he could get the first down. So he has to turn and try to make a throw.
I credit the Defense. There were 4 Packers clumped covering that side. Plus Nixon pretty sticky on Kmet.

When I rewatched that play several times it’s very possible an inside running play gets blown up. Karl Brooks was well into the backfield and couldn’t tell if it was Wooden or Brinson, but they stood up their side also and even penetrated over the LOS. 50/50 that Run gets stuffed.
Evan Williams took away the short toss but left Kmet in the end zone. But a smart Nixon picked him up before Williams made his decision. And Nixon actually baited Caleb into that throw.
Yes. DJ likely gets hit right around the LOS or before. It was 4 on 2 not good odds. The Packers D played that beat perfectly.

I was surprised he threw it.... We contested it but williams would've sliced it in there.... Like they had been doing the whole 2nd half.

We try to discourage that which could possibly get the board owners into legal entanglements, no matter how benign it may seem to you and (the non-mod) me.
Yeah, I understand. Like I say, I did wonder about it, but then I recalled seeing some conversations about pirating streaming content a while back, and figured "well, it's basically the same thing, so I guess it's OK."

That's why it's a good thing that you both removed the post and warned me about in public. I went back to remove it, and saw that it was gone. That was a good move, because otherwise someone else would see my post and then they would think, "oh, it must be OK then."

I didn't remove the post. Still there AFAIK.

One iota was that the Bears were closer to the right hash mark l. So optioning left made it a tad harder to throw running that way. If he ran right the sideline is too close.

Max McGee? in the superbowl. Chester Marcol quite often.
McGee may have had a hangover but he was not intoxicated. Chester was an alcoholic. The guy I wonder about the most was QB Bobby Layne, who played for Detroit and Pittsburgh.

Since we don't have a thread that is titled "He played while drunk in the NFL", I'll just put this right here. How does a starting CB in the NFL get away with playing "completely s--- faced drunk in at least 8 games"?

Still a ways to go to be high on coke, kick a FG, have it blocked and return it for a TD vs your biggest rival.

Let's not forget about Lawrence Taylor on coke for his entire career.
What's this wimpy one game stuff?!?
Cocaine's not a hallucinogen though. A stimulant arguably might even help performance, in the short term.
