Can not begin to describe how much I hate the refusal to call a play dead on forward momentum now and these scrum piles. Was irrelevant ultimately, but Lions player getting pushed back 5 yards and fumbling (lateraling). Should have been dead.
Forward progress seems to be going extinct just like traveling in the NBA.

It's crazy they said a TD was scored on that play. Let's say that play wasn't the final play of the game and there wasn't OPI either - then the Lions' next play would have been from the 1-yard line, and anything that happened after he was pushed back from the 1 shouldn't have counted, so Goff shouldn't have been allowed to take the lateral and score.

Jacob's fumble at the goal line wouldve been called down on forward progress , if it was back in the day. They used to call it right away as soon as they started being. Pushed backwards.

With Saturday night's thrilling OT victory over rival Green Bay, Chicago now has 11 wins -- with six of them coming after the Bears trailed in the final two minutes of regulation. They needed a face-mask penalty on third-and-20 and a recovered onside kick, among other things, in order to pull out that miracle against the Packers, which demonstrates both their extraordinary resilience and their propensity to make things harder than they need to be. The reward for those late-game heroics is that the Bears have clinched a playoff spot, they are the overwhelming favorites to win the NFC North, and the No. 1 seed remains possible. Simply beating the 49ers and Lions might not get it done, however, and as Ben Johnson said in the locker room after Saturday's win: "We need to get better." If the Bears do, Chicago might not know what to do with itself”

Well looks like the Vikings are hanging up their QB1 cleats.

Very possible GB will face backup QB’s over the next 2 weeks.
They have no offense today. OL has guys out like this. Brosmer is too slow with progressions and his line cannot protect him. Aaron Jones has to run onto a heavy box. Lions converted three 3rd and longs and two 4th downs. Only reason they are not way ahead is due to 2 fumbles.

Minnesota offense is nonexistent, but Goff and the Viking defense are doing their best to give us a Christmas miracle.

This weekend will be focusing on Chicago to see if we can close to 1/2 game. MLF has got us a ticket 6 of 7 seasons.

Who would’ve guessed both Detroit and Minnesota would be eliminated with a game remaining?

That tie in Dallas was foreboding in different ways. We win and we would have been 10-5. Had we lost we would be 9-6. It could have gone either way.

All I hope is for Lions not to field a lame duck team vs Bears in the final game.
I do recall that in the final game for Rodgers in GB 2022 we needed a win against Detroit to get in the postseason. The Lions had just been eliminated. Dan Campbell's words were " We aren't going to the playoffs. Let's makes sure they don’t either. "

Well, they definitely hate us more than Bears ;)

If we win out, then we get 2nd and Bears are 7th?

Even if we win out, we still probably don't get 2nd seed. In fact, by my calcs, I think it more likely we get 4th seed. Assuming bears lose two. And eagles win two.

We are still 1/2 game behind Eagles and 1.5 behind Chicago.
So the only way we’d climb to a #2 seed is Philly loses 1 of 2 remaining games and Chicago goes 0-2. So we are Buffalo and SF49 fans this weekend. GB Wins, SF Wins, Buffalo Wins? The #2 seed is there in Week18 GB wins, Chi loses

We can get to a #3 Seed (behind Philly) if we go 2-0 and Chicago goes 0-2. We play a pair of backup QB’s though. Whereas Chicago plays Purdy and Goff.

Here is 0% chance of a 4th seed for GB.
