No doubt about it, you can't judge Gannon based on what happened in Arizona. That's a snake bitten franchise and has been since the days they were the Chicago Cardinals. They have a rough time coming out of the gate being highly competitive in consecutive years. Being their HC is kind of like being handed the keys to a Yugo and be told you have to prepare it to compete at the Indy 500.

How about offensive coaches? Sean Manion (Packers QB coach) left for Philly to become their OC. Nathaniel Hackett was working for the Packers as their "defensive analysist" but is more of an offensive minded guy followed Hafley to Miami as well.
Packers OC Adam Stenavich is interviewing for OC positions elsewhere. I actually would be fine with him leaving, but then who does MLF get to replace him? Has to be sort of frustrating to be an OC for MLF, since he won't let the OC call the plays.
Still waiting to hear about Rich Bisaccia being on a plane out of GB.

Those are fair comments. Gannon has said he doesn't have a "scheme" he uses game to game. Rather de deploys the talent he has for maximum effectiveness against an opponent.
A lot depends on when Parsons gets back. Teams will double him but it allows other players a golden opportunity. If Parsons is back early we could be top 10. That's probably what all DCs and OCs would say. I take Gannon at his word. Hafley was pretty rigid and predictable in the way he called games. He is also a very bright coordinator and was certainly good for the Packers.
Top 5 D this season? I doubt it - not with this CB group. Just a gut feel by me that there are more talent holes on the D than the O.
Even so, I expect the D to finish in the top 10. And maybe the additions to the CB room pay off big time. So what I'm saying is, there's a chance.......

Well, before Parsons went down there were defensive players that were making plays due to his presence on the field. But after he was not there that dried up almost completely. Nixon's pick of Caleb was precipitated by trying to get away from Parsons side of the line. In the next two times without Parsons, Caleb had a lot of fun.
I won't dispute that at all. However, if you polled 100 Packers fans I think that you would find that 98 out of 100 expected the other DLs to be more productive with all of the attention paid to Micah. As you stated, the pass rush was almost non-existent when Micah was gone.
Well, that tells us a lot. In other words those DLs were never that good in the first place. And fans were probably fantasizing. The one DL that had a productive history went to Dallas in exchange for Micah.
