Congrats! That pick to win the Bears game had to be the deciding factor.
Funny thing is, Nixon should have just batted that ball out of the EZ. As we saw against the Seahawks, way back during replacement refs, a pick in the EZ, isn't always going to end up.... a pick in the EZ.

Not sure if anyone else pointed this out, but by making the Pro Bowl, Nixon just made another $250K due to an incentive clause in his contract.

That would almost be enough cash in 2026 to get a CB as good as Nixon. J/K of course, but I seriously don't see how he made the Pro Bowl.

If you ever read anything I post, just consider it as fact. I will ONLY use the "IMO" if it's an opion. However, you'll never see that as all my posts are facts.

In the 2022 season, Gannon's defense collapsed in the second half of the Super Bowl against KC giving up 17 4th quarter points in a game Philly lost 38-35. Gannon was the HC of the Cardinals when Philly got their ring last year.
Ok, my bad about the ring, but they still went to the Superbowl and had the 2nd ranked defense that year. In fact, he took the #19 defense and improved them to #10 his first season and #2 his second season. In 2022 the Eagles were #2 in yards allowed, trailing only SF by less than 1 yard per game. They were #1 in sacks and it wasn't even close and they were #3 in turnover differential. So if it's not Jim Leonhard (who would have gotten a pass from you on being unfairly criticized just because MLF might have hired him) then anyone else has to have a track record of absolute perfection. Got it.

There's no question Gannon has done more than Leonhard in the NFL to prove himself a good NFL DC. Jim has only managed the defensive passing game in Denver, and while the results have been good, you can't pretend he hasn't benefited greatly from the fact that the Broncos have the best pass rush and opposing QBs barely have time to scan the field. I'm not saying he won't be a good DC at some point. But for you to pretend that Gannon isn't just because he didn't play for the Badgers isn't supported by the evidence.

If Shedeur Sanders can make the Pro Bowl, and he was maybe the 3rd best QB on his team, then anyone can make the Pro Bowl.

Are we talking about the same Sanders who had a 17 game pace of 2900 yards, 15 TDs and 21 INTs on 56% passing? Wow.

Not sure how much this matters, if at all, but this is the 2025 NFLPA report card for the Cardinals. Overall, the organization ranked 32/32 and near or at the bottom in virtually every category. The one exception was head coach, where Gannon ranked pretty highly. Maybe that won’t translate into results, but it does suggest the players like him, despite the Hard Knocks clips.

Lots of weird voting going on. If Bill Belichick can't be a first ballot Hall of Famer, then nobody should be.

That SB was characterized by saying neither defense could keep up with the offenses. I think if the game lasted another quarter the score may have been 52-49.

The leanord turned the job down thing needs to slow down with folks - anyone that has discussed this with actual close ties to the team do not confirm and actually confirm the opposite - he was a finalist but never offered the job.
Well Jim himself said he turned down the offer

Wisconsin defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard was close to taking the same job with Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers, but his love of the Badgers football program and desire to stay in Madison ultimately led him to turn down the offer on Friday.

I think Bill pissed off the league with his way of blowing off press conferences by pretty much never really answering questions. He might be getting a bit of the Jerry Kramer treatment.

Well, the modern rules are heavily tilted to favor the offense most of the time, so there's that.

The "Pro Bowl" is a joke. Between minor injuries being a hall pass out of it and guys just straight-up declining an invitation, it's become mostly a fun vacation for some players. Hell, they don't even play real football. All there is now are some skills competitions and a friendly game of flag football.

I thought we were speaking to the year we chose Hafley - many many folks claim Jim declined the job then, which is not true. Yes years back when Barry was hired Jim did choose to stay in college.

Somehow, he did.
I read shadeur sanders made the pro bowl too. Apparently pro bowl is an illuminati popularity contest now.
And Bill belichek ,didn't get his first ballot hall of fame, with his 8 Superbowl rings??? Why? Because Kraft has a vandetta and the whole system is trash? Or??? Or is it because he has a smoking hot younger girlfriend that he doesn't hide from the world??? What ever reason, it's corrupt.

I don't see Nixon getting paid here, if that's what he is going to be valued at. Not saying he didn't play well. But I wouldn't bank on him playing opposing star receivers, and winning consistently.

Wasn't MLF coming off a really sucky season as OC when GB hired him?
I remember thinking. WHAT? THEEE???? !!!!! Lol.
It's nice when GB brass makes me eat humble pie. Lol

I think it's Kraft, and the whole massage parlor thing. Belichek and his smokin hot younger girlfriend doing it legit, instead of hiding it.... Has the illuminati pissed....
