All I can say is I don't want to hear any more spews about how pads make all the difference

https://www.packers.com/video/joe-whitt-pads-make-all-the-difference

Man, is that why HHCD went soft when he was here?

Whitt's own words before the 2018 season started:

"We haven't played very well the past 2 years...and it hasn't necessarily been because of lack of talent, people have gotten hurt or this or that or the third....but that is in the past."

WTF does that mean? So when the healthy guys aren't playing well, its not due to lack of talent but due to "this or that or the third"?

Did you guys ever think that Whitt isn't being forced on Pettine?

I will admit nothing of the kind!

I'm not brash enough to not acknowledge that MM and Capers must have known what they were doing by hiring and employing Whitt ;)

Like I said before, I have no clue what Pettine thinks of Whitt and if he thinks he is great and keeps him around.....than all I can do is hope he proves me wrong.

Whitt has been held over and is not Pettine's guy
You know I am not a fan of Whitt, but how do we know Pettine didn't have him as his #1 choice? I can see why maybe it didn't look like Pettine didn't have a choice, because quite a few guys were carried over, but I don't think I ever read that he was required to keep Whitt.

2017 Defensive Coaching Staff:

Dom Capers – Defensive Coordinator
Winston Moss – Associate Head Coach/Linebackers
Scott McCurley – Assistant Linebackers
Tim McGarigle – Defensive Quality Control
Jerry Montgomery – Defensive Front Assistant
Darren Perry – Secondary – Safeties
Mike Trgovac – Defensive Line
Joe Whitt Jr. – Secondary – Cornerbacks

2018 Defensive Coaching Staff:
  • Mike Pettine: Defensive Coordinator
  • Winston Moss: Associate Head Coach/Linebackers coach
  • Joe Whitt, Jr.: Defense - Pass Game Coordinator
  • Patrick Graham: Defense - Run Game Coordinator/Inside Linebackers coach
  • Jason Simmons: Secondary coach
  • Jerry Montgomery: Defensive Line coach
  • Scott McCurley: Defensive assistant
  • Ryan Downard: Defensive Quality Control coach

Just sure seems the Pack had it as a caveat that Whitt would get promoted no matter who the DC was. My point in being Pettine was probably agreeable to keeping Whitt on, but that doesn't make Whitt his guy.

If this Chris Shula guy is brought in as they say he could be, I will hope it's to replace Whitt.

I know how it looks ;) But we really don't know if Whitt was kept by MM or Pettine. I think we will have our answer shortly. ;)

Chris Shula, if brought in, looks more like a replacement for Winston Moss.

I also rest my case that Whitt was not Pettine's guy and got forced on him. If that wasn't the case, Pettine would have told MLF to keep him.
