on a side note here, how are numbers allocated? obviously some players will have preferences on numbers, but say QB's usually have a low number, so does position count?

    LB: 50-59, 90-99
    CB: 20-49
    S: 20-49

Ugh HaHa better be good because Charles Woodson who is my favorite player of all time wore #21. Beloved playmaker in our defense for years.

They got the draftees with their numbers on the Packers website roster pretty quickly. I think the most interesting one is #17 for Adams. He wore #15 at Fresno State so #17 is close. It used to be when rookie WRs were assigned numbers between 10 and 19, their chances of making the roster were slim.

Maybe I should have been clearer. By "used to be" I meant a decade or more ago. Even then there were exceptions but as a general rule if you were a rookie WR and assigned a low number, your chances to make it weren't great. For example Donald Driver was assigned #13 when he arrived in Green Bay. Here's a video of him talking about wanting to get an 80s number. He now considers #13 lucky but once he made the roster he was able to change numbers.

Wait ... you mean you didn't like Brent Fullwood??? Just kidding. He was before your time and believe me - that's a good thing.

As for the other numbers ... perhaps I'm just old-fashioned, but I'm not a fan of WR's wearing 10-19. I liked it better when they were strictly 80-89. But, that's just me.

Oooo... I agree. That's gonna be weird. Think he's being pretty "confident" by taking 21. Hopefully he lives up to the numbers standards. I still think peppers with 56 is going to look weird because I loved Barnett.

    I wish Bradford was a # in the 50's.

Why don't we ever have a good guy wearing #34 or #32?
    Those are premium numbers.

Aaaahhhh, I miss the days of Otto's 00, Graham's 60, Baugh's 33, Hornung's 5. Johnnie Blood wore 5 different numbers with the Packers; Arnie Herber wore 8 different numbers. Imagine the marketing possibilities for a running back with no. 55; or another center with 00.
