Like I've posted before, that's accountability in Green Bay. You get rewarded for failure. We saw it play out much too often in the MM years when Capers would get extended for putting out porous defenses. The reward for failure has continued into the current era.Amazing lose five games and the biggest playoff lead blown. Get an extension
There is no stat to look up you witness it every game he burns the most unnecessary Timeouts in the history of the NFL yes you see him panic on the sideline before he does it. Don’t be in denial you are right lolIf anyone has this stat, I would love to know it. Basically, the breakdown of the timeouts called by the Packers and the situation that they were called in. Maybe it is just selective muscle memory for me, but it seems like at least once or twice a game, the Packers burn a timeout to avoid a delay of game, a 5 yard penalty. Now sometimes, that doesn't come back to bite you (not having a timeout), but it sure would have been nice to have one in the back pocket on Saturday when Sean Rhyan went down and with no timeouts, it cost the Packers 10 seconds and at least one extra play to try and win the game.
Whether it is burning timeouts to avoid delay of games or Love having to rush a snap, too many times this season the communication between MLF and Love was way too slow. IF MLF is back and IF MLF won't give up play calling, this issue should be a high priority in 2026. Give your veteran QB plenty of time to look at the defense, audible out, shift players, etc.
Youre absolutely right.Like I've posted before, that's accountability in Green Bay. You get rewarded for failure. We saw it play out much too often in the MM years when Capers would get extended for putting out porous defenses. The reward for failure has continued into the current era.
After 7 seasons of failing in the postseason, MLF isn't going to show us a new side to him and instill discipline and toughness. Any future seasons with him are going to be wasted. The only hope I see is if some of the veteran players take on a much bigger leadership role like Woodson.
What makes things worse is that MLF's teams seem to be regressing the longer his tenure goes on. Love's first year they won a playoff game. Then last year they finished the season 0-3. This year they finish 0-5. One thing I've always looked for as a prediction of future success is how a team finishes the season. Falling apart at the end of the season is never a good sign. After 7 seasons of failing in the postseason, MLF isn't going to show us a new side to him and instill discipline and toughness. Any future seasons with him are going to be wasted.
He has had one handpicked coordinator hire in his tenure (Hafley) that wasn’t a complete failure.Supposedly a large factor in Harbaugh's departure was that he was told he needed to find new coordinators and he wasn't willing to do so. IMO that should be part of the stipulations to continue with LaFleur - special teams continues to suck and the offense falls apart late, so you're going to need to find a new ST coordinator and a new OC who can manage the second half adequately, or you're gone. Although at this point I'm not entirely sure I'd really trust LaFleur to pick the right guy(s) to fill those positions, either.

I mean true to a good portion of that but Green Bay has paid players that don’t deserve a ext and have let players go that deserve oneOn 1 of the sports shows this am they all basically said how great MLF is as a coach and how great the GB job is. Sounds more like they want him to stay put so GB can continue doing much of the same.
I'm sorry, but when the coach keeps making the same mistakes time after time it's time to go. Pretty sure organization's don't allow players that keep making the same mistakes to get a bigger contract.
That's the bottom line, I think. And as I've said many times before, I don't think Matt is a bad coach. I think he does a lot of things well, but I also think we have already seen his ceiling with us.
This...That's the bottom line, I think.
He's not a good play caller. He has these set ideas imho, and is going to do it come hell or high water. Whether or not we are good at those plays. And as said, is awful with time outs.This...
He's not horrific in game prep. But he's awful in game manager. He will get out coached by anybody decent
Then they bamboozle us with a piece of paper saying we are owners and the only right we have is to vote for the board of directors and they are all rich business owners that know nothing about football lmaoooooThe Packers are notorious cheap skates when it comes to their coaching staff.
Everyone is wanting Lafluer to be fired (me included) and John Hatbaugh to replace him. However, Packers would NEVER pay that type of money!
The ONLY way they move on from Lafluer is if he wants too much money. Then they would hire another cheap coach.....
They want to win....but not enough to pay for it!
