If you need a coach now if you really like MLF you aren't going to just wait a year until he is a FA. Easy enough just to swap some draft capital around to start a year early knowing the Packers are light this year on picks and looking at probably 4/5/5/5 compensatory next year.

Do I think he will be traded? Probably not. More just a fun discussion.

However if he wants 15M a year, do I think the Packers will want to dish out a 5 year contract at that? Have my doubts.

I don't expect MLF to be on the chopping block, unless maybe there's a huge egg laid tomorrow night. Even then I doubt it. But you never know, Gute might surprise us.

I know I said before that one game shouldn't be the deciding factor but I do wonder how much of a sticking point this game might be in contract negotiations...I have no idea how much we are "wanting" to pay for an extension. But if Matt is asking for a rumored 12-15m (that's a pretty broad range all things considered lol) I wonder how a win/loss impacts that negotiation...

I don't think it's about one game, I think it's about one game in the context of many seasons.

I was thinking that the Packers have playoff experience, whereas the Bears don't. That's one thing we have going for us, at least. Although it might make it more embarrassing if we lose.

I'm a little concerned about the four game losing streak. Winning gets to be a habit, but so does losing.
Yeah One would think that. I was watching an interview with Keisean Nixon and when asked about experience in postseason he shrugged it off. Basically nothing exact words said we didn’t have experience in 2023 and we rolled over Dallas so.. It’s about who shows up to play football moreso in his opinion.

I guess he’s right or he had me thinking anyways. I hope he lives up to those words is all. Both previous Bears games were Won and Lost by last second key plays by him.

While I like Matt, I wouldn’t be scared if we switched him out for someone like Harbaugh. My issue is I’d be concerned starting over with a 1st year coach. The Packers mostly promote from within due to $$$ and internal being cheapest. I doubt we would meet Harbaugh’s monetary demand but I could be wrong

I think some of this will depend on tomorrow. If we crap the bed and lose like we did to Baltimore he could be a surprise cut. I don’t think it’ll happen but wouldn’t shock me. Gotta remember we’d finish 0-5 and even I can’t spin that with excuses.

However if we Win at Chicago? We all know Chicago is at minimum playoff worthy. I think it would solidify us as pulling out of our post Micah parsons tailspin

I have 100% joined the fire MLF crowd. Can't lose a Playoff game you are up 21-3 at halftime, and give up 25 pts in the 4thQ... top it off it happened against your biggest rival. See ya!

We have seen exactly who Matt is in big games time after time after time after time. Expecting anything different in year 8 is pure delusion.
Fire him tomorrow and offer the job to Hafley.

He should be fired in the locker room and told to find his own ride home.

Too much to say, so I’ll just focus on special teams in our last four playoff appearances under MLF.

2025: McManus misses three kicks that cost us the game
2024: Fumble on kick return and McManus missed a FG
2023: Carlson missed a FG that probably cost us the game
2021: Blocked FG and blocked punt definitely cost us the game

You could make an argument that special teams has cost us three playoff wins in the last four years. Probably weren’t going to win the Philly game anyway, but it was super consequential in all the others.

This....

MLFs games:

-Blowing win or die at home against Detroit in last week
-Allowing Scotty Miller first half hail Mary to end up costing NFCC at home
-Blowing lead against SF on road in NFC Divisional
-Blowing lead at home against SF in Green Bay in NFC Divisional on blocked punt
-Coming out super flat against Eagles in NFC Wild Card
-Blowing two possession lead against Bears for division balance
-Blowing 18 point lead tonight

When has he ever come up big???

Gute must relieve MLF, or Ed must relieve Gute and MLF.

If not the board must immediately remove Ed. And if not the board must be removed and elected with people that do.

Let's face it. There's no accountability in Green Bay. All those sorry losers are going to not only keep their jobs but get extended because they're doing such a great job.

the best part is how LaFleur is reportedly asking for 12-15m per year on an extension and we’ll probably still gladly pay it.

Imagine if we’d hired this guy in 2022 or 2023 instead of 2019 lol

We were talented enough to Win. Yet it’s undeniable our Head Coach put us in positions to lose. That works against a .500 team. It doesn’t work against hungry, playoff caliber teams.

Matt gave up again when he let the playclock expire

It was 3rd n 10 at the chi21 for the Win. He literally gave up. You will NOT convince me he didn’t know the play clock expired.
He purposely and willfully chose 3rd n 15 and -5 yards vs a timeout.

From Chi21 we were winning by +3. If you get a 6-9 yard play? It’s 4th n 4 or less from the Chicago14-15 and Chicago uses their last timeout around 2:55 gameclock.

Go for the Win. If you hit a 1st down you can take the clock to 1:20 area just running it up the gut. 3 tries if you want to give up do it after winding the clock and getting a chance to put the game away.
Technically could Go for it on 4th down and even if we miss? it’s Chicago ball with :70 sec and 90+ yards to go for a Win or about 60 yards to go to tie but with ZERO timeouts.

It was a bonus 4-down territory if we get a 6-9 yard play imo and we’re between the Chi12-15 yard line. Instead we chose -5 and a longer FG try to save a timeout??

That’s worst case. If you make a 1st down at the Chi10 and then score a TD? Game over. Green Bay wins

by 2-scores.
