The Cowboys have too many offensive weapons to count on a blow-out. Not with Romo playing the way he is. He's a top 3 QB this year, no doubt about it. And not with that OL.

Romo could chuck some INTs but he didn't against Detroit, and Murray could fumble but then so could Lacy.

Packers must make the best of their opportunities on offense. Cowboy defense has been reasonably effective against the run but Packers should be able to pass on the Cowboy defense all day, and if they go 2-deep safety, then Lacy has got to make them pay. I think he can. he did it against Detroit which has the best run defense in the NFL.

I’ve got a question about the Dallas defense: Has it improved over the last half or quarter of the season? The reason I ask is I looked at the nfl.com stats for their D vs. the Packers. Of course the season stats for the Packers don’t reflect the improvement it has made since the bye, but I don’t know if the Cowboy’s D experienced a similar improvement.

Here are the stats. The Cowboy’s ranking appears first, then the Packers.

Scoring D: 15th, tied for 13th. Total yards: 19th, 15th. Passing yards: 26th, 10th. Opponent’s passer rating: 13th, 7th. Rushing yards: 8th, 23rd. Of course even if both Ds stayed exactly the same all season stats don’t tell the whole story, but the Cowboy’s D certainly looks exploitable unless it’s experienced the kind of improvement the Packers’ D has or is significantly better on the road. It would be interesting to see the stats on both sides of the ball for all Dallas away games vs. Packers games after the bye.

I'd be very interested in seeing if there's a 1st half vs 2nd half stat comparison somewhere. Would be very interesting to compare.

The one thing you do have to credit the Cowboys defense for is their effectiveness against the run. But then, Eddie Lacy ran for 100 yards against the #1 Run defense in the NFL 2 weeks ago, so I'm optimistic that Dallas can't shut GBs rushing attack down.

We won't be able to shut it down. How well our run defense plays depends heavily on whether Rolando McClain can go or not, but he's struggling with neck issues and a concussion.

Well see if the Cowboys can keep up cause I don't see them stopping us. I've said it all season. "If you don't have a dominant front don't even show up to Lambeau".

Marinelli will try to blitz. lol

I tried doing some of this on my own. Here are the Cowboys defensive stats, first half vs second half of season.

Points allowed
1st Half-167 Points allowed (20.8 per game)
Second Half- 185 Points allowed (23.1 per game)

Total Yards
1st half- 352 yards allowed per game
2nd half- 358 yards allowed per game

Passing Yards-
1st half- 237.3
2nd Half- 266.5

Rushing Yards-
1st half- 114.6
2nd half- 91.6 (I should note that this is probably thrown off a bit by the fact they held the Colts to one yard rushing in week 16)

Thanks red4tribe. BTW, I don't consider a great effort or failure as throwing off the stats.

If we don't turn the ball over and Rodgers is a statue in the pocket, we'll score....a lot. By a lot I mean we'll most likely drop a 40 burger on Dallas.

However, the Cowboys game plan should be clear as day. They are going to come in here and try controlling the clock and keep Rodgers off the field and limit our possessions. They are going to ground and pound us (or attempt to) so our run D better show up and put some hits on Murray's bum hand.

Also, the time to "worry" about the pass rush getting to Rodgers a lot isn't this game, its the next game assuming we beat Dallas and I think we will.

By the way, Ive been predicting all week long that Julius Peppers will have a huge game. This is why he came to Green Bay. To play in playoff games and big games. He came here for a shot at the Super Bowl. I think he shows up big against Dallas.

No dispute here. I said last week the wrong team was favored between Detroit and Dallas and it played out with Detroit beating Dallas up front on both sides of ball. Detroit didn't close the deal but the reff's basically gave the game to the Cowboys. Detroit was an easy cover and should of paid the ML.

Dallas is a "fraud show" waiting to get further exposed and Lambeau isn't the place to take a "fraud show".

Cowboys beat Seahawks, Packers got blowout by Seahawks, Cowboys beat Saints, Packers got blowout by the Saints lmao

That analogy doesn't works in sports. Alabama beat Texas A&M 59-0. Texas A&M beat Auburn. Shouldn't Alabama beat Auburn 118-0?

Arizona beat Oregon 31-24 in the regular season. So Arizona should beat Oregon again huh? Nope. Oregon beat Arizona in the Conference championship.

Get real, LOL

Teams match up differently. Its not about who you play, but when you play them. Anyone smart about sports knows that.

No. He is just sore that the Seahawks don't have the perimeter weapons to beat the Cowboys and let em spank em in there house. Home of 12trh man where they got spanked by them Cowboys. So with his big game comparison crap it will be interesting what he has to say when we 30-40 burger the Cowboys.

Smart post. The Cheifs beat the Seahawks, and lost to the Raiders, that must mean the Raiders are better then the Seahawks!

1 SB in their pitiful embarrasment of a franchise and they think they bad, lol.

Lombardi's ghost is finna take a dump all over that ***** little stadium in Seattle.

Yeah they talk of "This is how you win championships" all the time over here. I keep having to remind them to take the "s" off the end of championships. I've never seen so much hype over a Super Bowl Championship.

You would think they have won it 4 years in a row. Whats funny is when they were 3-3 there whole fan base was an inch away from falling off.

Lol they are nothing though, just a cute little flash in the pan. Probably will compete for the next two years and fall of dramatically when they can't afford to pay all that defensive talent due to their game manager's impending "Franchise QB" contract.

that PI flag they picked up....? Wonder how much it cost jerry to buy a playoff game?

The guy is worth $3.2 Billion. If he's buying games, why would he wait 19 years to do it? Also, IF he's working the NFL offcials for "favors", then Dallas wouldn't have been in the top 10 most penalized teams for the last decade ...

Exactly, that's what I keep saying. Let's see what genius's they are when the playing field is level and they gotta pay the big "franchise QB" contract. I've seen this movie before.

It's called. "Go win us a Super Bowl Russell and you gotta score more then 17 points."

I think AR will be fine with minimal scrambling. Weve got 2 weeks to prepare for any such deficiencies regarding the calf pull.IMO This game will come down to the trenches and rushing D on both sides
AR won't be rolling out so the calf is essentially a minimal factor And he will be at 95% of normal efficiency
Our D will decide this game. If we get to Romo and hold Dallas to <=24 all eyes will be on Seattle. Advantage playing at 19 degrees=advantage In =GB

I'd pay to see that in a curving line graph with separate colors for the teams

I am actually a Lions fan but I always cheer for the Packers when the Lions are out. I like the Packers. Rogers is a class act. Love the northern small town setting. Great for the game.

Just want to say GO PACKERS! I hope they crush the Cowboys. Can't stand the Cowboys ever since Jerry Jones has been in charge. And that Dez Bryant needs to be hit. Sick of his tantrums every week.

The Packers just need to put pressure on Romo. He will fold under pressure. And the Lions proved that the Cowboys offensive line can be beat. I would be sending Matthews in on Romo a LOT. He will throw a couple interceptions in this game if he is pressured in that cold weather.

Have fun guys. I will be with you in spirit during the game on Sunday.

Both Jordy and Dez are dangerous but I see bigger games from Cobb and Beasley this game IMO

Yeah, that Beasley is scrappy and quick. Perhaps a nice hard tackle on the frozen tundra in the first quarter will slow him down. :)
