More trade ups; quality over quantity. Get the quantity day after the draft.
Gotta get some WR and Oline help. I'd love to get DeSean Hamilton.
Feel like gambling? Take a shot at Sweat and hope that knee holds up. Drawing a blank right now on his name, but the LB with one hand is a guy I'd like to see us get, also.

Think we'll end up with two 4th round picks which need to be a receiving option and edge rusher. And by "think," I guess I really mean "hope," because nothing about the draft ever goes how I think it will or should.

Going on the theory that in general the higher the pick the better the talent I hope we move up a few times because I don't think we need all the picks we have left. Still, by day three I'm not sure if it really matters. Will any of the guys listed in these posts be any better than any of those not listed? I know you all have your favorites and you strongly believe they will be and I respect that but It's probably a 50/50 proposition at best.

Maybe the theory of throw enough s*** at the wall and some will stick is better at this point.

Off topic I never really understood that theory. If it works all you have is a bunch of s*** and some sticky, stinky walls.

I like EQ Brown, but I think he won't be there, unless the Packers trade up.

I'm keeping my eye on J'Mon Moore, WR, Missouri

He is another guy that the Packers brought in for a pre draft visit.

6'3 " 204 lbs.

Tall, well-built deep threat with good burst and plus long speed to take the top off a deep coverages. Impressive tracking skills down the field.

My day 3 prediction: Packers move up in round 4 and select either Tyrell Crosby or LaMarco Jones, OT and re-sign Jahri Evans. Or they go WR and get Equanimeous. I'd rather them get an OT.
Or maybe, they go for Okoronkwo, OLB but I'm less confident about that.

He ran a 4.6 at the Combine. That ain't good.

The rest of the picks from here on out are mostly crap shoots, but where a team can really make hay or burn the barn down. This is where BPA comes into play, but your BPA might be rated #145, while someone else has them at #345.

I expect to read a lot of "WTF, who is this guy?" or "OMG, this guy is an absolute steal!"

With 8 picks still in their possession, I see the Packers going after 2-3 O-lineman (including long snapper Tanner Carew), a WR or two, a safety, OLB and maybe a flyer on a QB.
We already heard it in round 3, I'm sure we are going to hear it again. There are dozens of Oren Burks out there. Guys who are pretty raw but have amazing potential.

The question becomes, you are entering a car race and you have to pick a car off the used car lot. There is a ferrari sitting there and it needs a lot of work. Theres a mustang and it needs a bit of work, and there is a newer Honda Civic that needs no work. Which do you take? Can adding a civic to our fleet really help us win races, its only going to replace another civic with some engine trouble. Or should we take the mustang, which will take a year and we thing there is a 60% chance we get it running properly? But if it works - we will be competitive in the race. Finally, we can get the Ferrari, not sure we can find the parts needed, not sure what is all under the hood. But if we get it running, it will be far more likely we will win the race.

I'm grabbing the shiny Buggy with the solid looking Standardbred pulling it! :coffee:

I predict there is a guy on the board that the Packers just have to take, that we can't believe fell that far. And then when the Packers don't take said player I predict fans will say gute doesn't know what he is doing, TT must be running this draft and that we are wasting Rodgers career

kind of in order - I'm looking at:

WR DeSean Hamilton
WR St. Brown
Edge Sweat
TE Schultz
WR Cain
OT Crosby
WR Fountain
Edge Okoronkwo
OT Jones
RB Walton
DT Tim Settle
WR Lazard
OT Richardson

Off the top of my head. Think I am missing a few.

I'll take this civic

One guy I'd love for the Packers to draft late is Quadree Henderson. He's a gadget player and return specialist from Pitt. He's 5'8" but 192 lbs. He's one of the best COD guys in this class. On offense he would only be a manufactured touch player, but in the return game he's crazy dangerous. In three years at Pitt:

73 kick returns for an average 27/return and 4 touchdowns.

36 punt returns for an average of 14/return and 3 touchdowns.

I think he's special enough in the return game to warrant a roster spot even if he's bringing nothing to the offense. I mean, that's essentially what Davis was last year and they carried him on the 53/46.

The problem is, we hear this every year about WR. Last year it was Yancey and Dupre. Before that Davis, Abbrederis, Janis, Johnson, Dorsey, Swain, Clowney...etc. Packers are going to need to start investing some draft stock in the WR position. The last non 3rd round or earlier WR that actually amounted to anything for the Packers was Donald Driver in 1999.

But these WRs could have easily gone in the 3rd, maybe even the 2nd depending on how people have their boards, these aren't the unknown scrubs that TT picks, these were No. 1 WRs on Power 5 conference teams.

Right, just like Yancey (Purdue), Dupre (LSU), Davis (Cal) and Abbrederis (Wis.) and.......

I'm not saying it isn't possible to draft a productive WR in the 4th round on, I was just saying that the history of the Packers doing it, isn't in their favor. I fully expect a WR or 2 taken today by Gute.

Daesean Hamilton please.

Rodgers would love him.

At this point in the draft, it might make sense to just let the guys on the roster compete for the #2 job and take a guy like Hamilton who has a shot to be an heir apparent to Cobb in the slot.
